Welcome to Simon's! For a short or long stay, we would be delighted to welcome you to our 70m² gîte located in the beautiful village of Montfort, 4km from Sarlat. Unique, warm, and comfortable, come and discover our little haven nestled at the foot of Montfort Castle. A jewel dating back to the Middle Ages, it has had a turbulent history over the centuries, destroyed and rebuilt six times, and it spectacularly overlooks the Dordogne River. In a setting with oriental touches from Morocco, enhanced by the ochre colour of the typical Sarlat stone, come and experience the charms of the Périgord Noir. Enjoy an unobstructed view of Montfort Castle from our garden below the fortress. Find the river 200m away, starting point for numerous hiking trails, restaurant and bakery in the village, free parking on site. Montfort, a quiet village 4km from Sarlat, is at the heart of the many activities offered in Périgord: canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, hot air ballooning, greenway, the castles of Castelnaud, Beynac, and Milandes, the Lascaux Caves, the Padirac Cave, the Gardens of Marqueyssac, Sarlat-la-Canéda, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Beynac… Independent house, private garden, free parking in front of the cottage, barbecue area, restaurant nearby, bakery 600m away, numerous hiking trails, breathtaking views of the Dordogne River, at the foot of Montfort Castle in a beautiful setting Enchanting. A unique style of property that we enjoyed coming home to after a long day exploring the surrounding area. It essentially is an attractive "cave" for want of a better word.Fully functional and comfortable for our 10 night stay.In the heat of the day it remained cool but never cold which was great. The garden was a relaxing place to be and enjoy the views, whilst the restaurant next door (which we frequented 3 or 4 times) was very convenient and offered some great food.Our host Christelle was very helpful and was easy to contact if needed.Car parking is opposite within the public car park, and was safe and convenient.It is situated in Montfort which itself is a beautiful place, and is centrally located to reach Sarlat and the surrounding villages easily.Would love to return again one day.

Fabrice et sa compagne sont un couple rayonnants et très agréables au contact facile comme l'on rêverait tous avoir. Très respectueux du gîte, le logement fut laissé très propre. À recommander bien évidemment
