Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, location, listing accuracy
Our group consisted of (5) middle-aged moms. We planned to stay two nights, only stayed one. Very disappointed with the condition of the space. It had NOT been well-cleaned. Dried mud chunks in many places, bits of garbage left throughout the house, fridge not wiped out, an empty vodka bottle behind the table in the living room, a puffy black jacket in the backyard, a low-ball glass outside on the rocks in the front of the house. We cleaned the floors and fridge before trying to settle in. We avoided the vodka bottle and stuff outside because it was so bewildering we didn't know what to do besides inform the owner. A few windows had also been left unlocked prior to our arrival, which wouldn’t have been a big deal had the cops not paid a lengthy visit to the house next door after some kind of disturbance Fri. night. Then, as we were doing our final check for belongings before leaving, we found a camera under one of the beds. This camera contained plenty of evidence of a party held at the house the weekend prior by a group of college(?) kids. We left it for the owners as the listing had clearly stated "no parties.” Given all these issues, I figured it best to give the owner a chance to make it right by us before posting a public review. I asked for the cleaning fee to be refunded, and suggested it might also be a nice gesture to refund our second night. He said he gladly would to make up for our hassle. Then, he ghosted me and changed the listing to now say parties are allowed.
