From the warm glow on the log beams overhead & the wonder of nature all around... to the inviting front porch, guests feel the rich comfort & settle right in. The indoor/outdoor lines disappear as lake vistas & lake life décor play happily off each other. Gathering spaces welcome friends. Winter season = snow mobiling trails, hiking through association 855 acres, ice skating, crackling lakefront fire, nearby seasonal events!

Perfect Adirondack Retreat

What could be better, a beautiful rustic log cabin on a lake with a classic back porch with a lounging area and dining table overlooking a beautiful small lake . Stayed 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. Can’t wait to go back again!

A wonderful cabin in a quiet area. We enjoyed fishing and finding all the toys in the cabin! The cabin is also very close to Lake George. Definitely would recommend!

Uncle Joe’s cabin was fantastic! The location was private enough, the cabin was clean & stocked with everything you’d need & the lake was so peaceful! It was loaded with fish too! We cannot wait to visit again! I can’t say enough good things about this place!

An Adirondack Dream

A small reunion

We were celebrating my 50th birthday for a long weekend. Everything that you can possibly think of was provided by the host (cleaning supplies, entertainment for all ages, toiletries, laundry machine, etc.). It was a little piece of heaven and was so beautiful, both inside the cabin and in the surrounding area. There was fantastic attention to detail, with the host even leaving s’mores supplies and a welcome note! It felt so cozy and welcoming for us all. It was very clean and well-decorated, with the best vibes. Can’t wait to go there in the winter!

Our stay at Uncle Joe’s cabin was absolutely amazing. The cabin is so cozy and inviting. We traveled with our 9 year old Chocolate Lab who also enjoyed the experience. Magical!

Love this place! Perfectly situated on a small lake and surrounded by trees - this magical cabin has been so lovingly restored and cared for. Weather didn’t cooperate much but I felt it a privilege to just be staying in such a beautiful cabin I didn’t care much. Lots of nearby towns to explore - so much in fact, I need to come back when everything is open! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin. ♥️

Lakefront Getaway

We had a great stay for the holiday weekend at Uncle Joe's Cabin that had wonderful common areas inside and out. It feels like a secluded cabin on the lake, but is still close to neighbors, the local town, and only 10 minute drive to Lake George. We were staying for a friend's and family gathering because a couple of us were doing a triathlon as part of the Lake George Triathlon Festival. We had a great time out on the covered deck, cooking in the kitchen, out on the dock, and down at the local beach across the lake!

Amazing cabin in a bucolic setting

My family's second trip to Uncle Joe's Cabin and we will be back as much as possible! This cabin has it all. I have been visiting the north country since 1980 and this by far is the nicest place we have ever stayed at. It's comfortable and welcoming. Everything feels well thought out. It's roomy and well appointed with antiques and a nice assortment of north country knick-knacks. Thanks from my whole family!

Home Sweet Home

Love when I find something like this ! The home is like you’re visiting family.. sweet touches everywhere . I can’t say enough about Kim , she made sure we had everything we needed from the beginning of our trip until the end ! It truly is a special place . You can get a feel in the pictures , but once you’re there, it’s peaceful , inviting . My family and I booked next year while we were there . Close to everything , yet far enough to relax . We cooked and ate out . Enjoyed coming back at night and hanging on that great porch ! Ate breakfast out there every morning ! Sweet find ! Thank you Kim ! See you soon again !

Magical

Uncle Joe’s cabin was built in the Adironacks in the 1930s. There was a cozy relaxing feeling upon entering the cabin. Our hostess has tastefully decorated the cabin with Adironack and antique furnishings. There is a wonderful covered porch overlooking Lake Forest. This was a favorite spot for dining, relaxing, and playing games. We explored the lake with the owners canoe, paddle boat and kayak. Although there are cabins close to Uncle Joe’s it was private enough, very quiet and relaxing. The cabin was very clean, lovely bed linens, on very comfortable beds. The 6 of us, grandparents, daughter and son-in-law and grandsons (4 and 6) had a fabulous memory making vacation at Uncle Joe’s! Highly recommend! this rental!

Amazing stay, most beautiful cabin

This place was outstanding, right on lake Luzerne. I went with my husband and children for four days. We had the best time. Rustic cabin with many upgrades. We booked it again for next year. Best time ever

From the time I was a young mother, I would take my kids for rides to settle their bones. I can't tell how many times we landed at Forest Lake in the Northwoods Association. All these years later, my dream became a reality. Loving the idea of sharing with like-minded humans who preen for nature, who love all things log cabin beautiful, who have an adventurous soul! We unplug and make puzzles, play scrabble and swim, boat, hike, bike and laugh a lot.

Why they chose this property

The property is perched on the water's edge.. It exudes a peacefulness with lights that bounce off log ceiling, with early morning light that is so crystal clear through porch vistas and comfortable gathering spaces. The log world beckons dreamy days, delicious dinners and laughter at night.


Winter fun is in the air! Cross country skiing and snowmobile trails in the neighborhood, Gore Mtn 40 min drive, ice skating on the lake out front. Out the Door: The lakefront grounds with stepping stones and terraces lead to quiet exploration and are the prettiest setting for a crackling bonfire. Light dances through tall pine and hemlock towering overhead. Ice now is forming... waterfront. In warmer months: find plenty of water toys including kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, fishing gear. Days are long with swimming and soaking in the sunshine. Venture a short walk to the association sandy beach just around the lake to make drip castles with moats! In winter months: Find 855 acres of trails for hiking, cross country skiing, snow-shoeing, snowmobiling, downhill skiing nearby. Lake Luzerne has history seeped in horseback riding and rodeos. Guests never want to leave, yet nearby attractions of Bolton Landing, Lake George and Saratoga Springs offer so much more! Discover the warmth and welcome at this Earl Woodward log cabin, affectionately named “Uncle Joe's Cabin at Forest Lake.”
