L'Armance, a top-of-the-range gîte ideal for a stay with family or friends
The accommodation: In the heart of the village, L'Armance is a carefully renovated old house offering high-end amenities. On the garden level, the fully equipped kitchen and dining area have a separate entrance and open onto a terrace and a secluded enclosed garden. From June 15th to September 15th, the host grants guests private and priority access to the heated swimming pool, located in a garden adjacent to L'Armance's. On the mezzanine level, the spacious living room features beautiful views of the valley, a large-screen television, and an American pool table: the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the region and its many cultural and sporting activities. The living room also benefits from direct access to the outside. On the ground floor is the main entrance to the house: the entrance leads to the Raphaëlle bedroom and has two staircases: the first to the mezzanine living room, and the second to the three bedrooms upstairs. Due to the layout of the house, with its staircases, L'Armance is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. The hosts also draw the attention of parents of young children to these potential risks. The region: The medieval village of Mont-Saint-Jean is ideally located in the heart of the Auxois region, at the crossroads of the Morvan and the famous vineyards, a territory rich in history, culture, and nature. Sheltered by the walls of its fortified castle, Mont-Saint-Jean overlooks the Serein valley. Perched on a rocky spur, it is a small paradise where time flows leisurely, in a soothing and inspiring setting. 15 minutes from the A6 motorway, on the border of the Morvan. 40 minutes from Beaune and its famous vineyards. 1 hour from Dijon, capital of the Dukes of Burgundy. The Auxois, a land of art and history. The Auxois is a "Land of Art and History". You can discover its hidden gems by exploring the country roads or following the Burgundy Canal. Here, the visits follow one another but are never the same: a medieval village, a famous sweets factory, a focus on the Battle of Alesia, a Renaissance jewel, the ramparts of Semur-en-Auxois, castles, Romanesque churches – enough to satisfy the curious and lovers of old stones. The Morvan, a little bit of Canada. Leaving the limestone slopes of the Auxois, you enter the Morvan Regional Natural Park, or Mont Noir because it is made of dark granite. Explore its ponds, its heights, its escarpments, fortified spurs, secluded places of worship, buried in the leafy forest where the Celtic influence can still be discerned; multiple springs, miraculous in ancient times; and above all forests of beech, hornbeam, oak and chestnut trees - and now fir, black pine, spruce - forests that were and still are the very essence of the Morvan. The famous Burgundy vineyards. Created in Gallo-Roman times, improved by the industrious monks of Cîteaux, the Burgundy vineyards have produced, since the Middle Ages, delightful wines that its lords of the time, the great dukes of the West, made known throughout the world. Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, slopes that are a pleasure to explore. You must explore the vineyards and, along the way, admire the villages with prestigious names: Volnay, Pommard, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet… A visit not to be missed: the town of Beaune Sports and nature With its rolling landscapes, its hedgerows, its green forests, the bucolic banks of the Burgundy canal, our region is the ideal place to recharge.
