Our stay at Catalina Del Mar was pretty good the house was clean and very spacious the pool was nice and clean property is right on the beach, communication with the host was good, overall it was a good experience for me and my family, the only negative thing there is no laundry on the property and only 2 burner work on the stove but we did not cook much

Beautiful setting - However it is not a private rental

The location is awesome. On a sandy (not swimmable) beach that the kids loved playing on with beautiful views, sunsets, etc. It feels remote - we only saw 1 or 2 people walking by. The pool is large and the kids loved it. Lots of floats and toys are there. Solid restaurants within 1-2 miles, one that's a 5 minute walk down the beach. Some really nice beaches within a few minute drive either way as well. All the prior reviews about the condition of the house are accurate. It needs a lot of work. One window would not close & had no screen. 2/4 stove burners work. Stained furniture Etc. Generally it's a weathered coastal home. This wasn't a big deal to us, and is probably why it's such a great deal - just know what to expect. The pool is only cleaned Saturdays, so checking in Wednesday there was sand from the prior guests and debris from the wind. I wanted to skim, but there isn't a skimmer. It was fine, but again FYI what to expect.Initially the host was great communicating and answered questions about the house, beach, etc. before we booked. However once I messaged that the master bath sink was clogged and wouldn't drain (upon arrival), she never responded again and it didn't get fixed.Lastly - this is NOT a private property. The building in front of the house is occupied by a full time tenant with a dog. She kept to herself, but it is a shared driveway, gate, etc. The listing does not mention this at all. Just FYI.

Great communication with host. The house does need some upkeep. Not enough plates for our party of 9 to eat dinner. 2 of the oven burners did not work. The A/C did not work in one of the bedrooms. Lack of hot water in one bathroom and the kitchen. One of the pool tiles was loose and when my son stepped on it he fell into the deep end of the pool. House has good bones, but needs a lot of upkeep. The gate to the beach is barely holding on.

When I was six, my family moved to Boston. For years, we only vacationed in Puerto Rico, but I inherited my parents' dream of moving back. After visiting Islote, Arecibo with my sons, we bought a home in Puerto Rico and spent summers, vacations, and holidays there.

Today, we share our private oasis with you, hoping you'll fall in love with the salt air and the ocean's embrace, just as we have. We travel back and forth between Islote and Boston.
