We are thrilled to present 'Palekaiko' at Kihei Akahi - our little piece of 'paradise' on Maui!

A two-bedroom, two-bath condo, 'Palekaiko' is suited to families, multi-generational families and is even a great fit for couples, a guys-only golf getaway or girls-only beach escape! Our hale (home) is a wonderful place where you can enjoy spectacular sunsets, warm trade winds and fabulous white sandy beaches only steps from your door. Enjoy your morning Kona coffee on our ground-floor walk-out lanai surrounded by lush tropical plants and manicured lawns.

The Kihei Akahi Resort is a quiet and secure complex that has two swimming pools and barbeque areas and a tennis court. Centrally located, this beautifully landscaped complex is located in sunny South Kihei where only six to eight inches of rain a year and a consistent 75-90 degrees (25-32 degrees Celsius) almost assuring you of a warm, relaxing sunny vacation.

Our family-friendly condo is fully equipped. Our kitchen has plenty of room for multiple cooks! The bamboo cabinet bases are topped with the beautiful "Quartet" quartz countertop, off-set by the classic grey subway backsplash. The white cabinet uppers keep the kitchen light and bright! Brand-new appliances include a Bosch fridge and dishwasher and a GE gas range. We also have a full-sized LG washer and dryer, and a Samsung "Whisper" wall-mounted split-system air conditioning unit.

Furnishings in the primary bedroom are Pier 1 and the guest bedroom has a custom murphy bed and queen-sized bed with a matching headboard. The primary ensuite is roomy, in an effort to make it easier for people with mobility issues to manage, we removed the wall between the vanity & toilet/shower area, we installed a wider door, a 'comfort' height toilet and a low profile shower tray. The guest bathroom has a bathtub, a must for families with little ones!

Living and dining room furnishings are by Ratana, providing Palekaiko with an 'Island' flavour. We no longer have Hawaiian-style louvered windows, we have energy-efficient, double-glazed Low-E windows that keep our suite cooler and quieter. Our patio set on the lanai brings the comfort outside. We also supply beach toys, beach chairs, beach towels, mats and even a cooler to make your beach experience the best!

Family of 12 stayed in 3 condos in Kihei Akahi. My son and daughter in law , plus 3 of our five granddaughters stayed in Della’s condo. We came to relax and spend time together. We grilled by the pool, swam, took surfing lessons, dined at great restaurants and had family pictures professionally taken. A great time! We found the condo to be clean, stocked with usable items, convenient to beach and pool.

Great location to a great beach!

We loved the beach that you can walk to...lots of great snorkeling and super soft sand. This place was so close to the pool and grass just outside the patio door. Everything was a great (except some beetles that surprised in the kitchen) Kitchen was nicely updated, nice bathrooms, and lots of fresh linens. Air conditioning wasnt great but the temps in January were really nice. Very comfy beds and lots of pillows.

Wonderful Stay

The place was perfect. There was plenty of items in the kitchen to make meals or prep left overs. The location was a short walk to the beach and local restaurants. The owner sent an excellent write up of how to get to the place and how to register for parking. She also include what to do if you arrived late, which happened to us. There was plenty of info on where to shop and other actin. The on site staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time and are looking forward to going back.

Wow - Wow - WowIf you’re looking for a comfortable stay in Kihei - look no further! Comfy beds, great recliner, thoughtful amenities, ground floor lanai, lush landscape, beautiful flowers throughout the property. Grilled salmon by the pool - just steps away from our home away from home. Shaded parking space steps away from our pad. Jiving across the street to Kamaole 2 Beach with chairs, umbrella and cooler provided by these awesome owners, Della and Keith who have thought of it all! We picked up snorkeling gear from The Snorkel Store and were set for our stay!

Great location and super clean and comfortable condo!

We absolutely loved every minute of our stay here! The condo is updated with a beautiful new kitchen, is very clean and has everything you need to enjoy a great vacation (boogie boards, sun umbrella, beach chairs, some snorkeling gear, beach toys and even a cooler!) It was the perfect place to come home to after a day of sightseeing and enjoying the beautiful beaches (we swam with sea turtles!). The location in South Kihei is perfect and the complex is quiet. It's right across the street from the beach and within walking distance to restaurants and stores. The hosts are very nice and easy to communicate with and super accommodating. You can tell that they love this place by the way everything is set up and taken care of! It's no wonder it gets booked quickly! We would love to come back and stay here again!!

Palekaiko was the magical vacation accommodation promised in the host description. The thorough and clear communication from Della before our departure was especially appreciated due to the extreme weather on the island just before our arrival. While initially were concerned about what to expect following the big storms, speaking with Della renewed on confidence that we would have everything we need for an amazing, convenient and safe vacation. The accommodation was clean, well stocked and clear instructions for the television, air conditioner and washing machine were easily accessible. The corner, ground level unit was PERFECT for our active kids and the proximity to the pool is even closer than I imagined. We are already planning our next stay at Palekaiko!

We had wonderful time at Palekaiko. The condo was very clean, well equipped with everything you may need. The location is great, just a short walk to the beach. The condo has a very convenient parking spot reserved for guests. Della is a wonderful host, she was very quick in responding to all our questions. She sent us very helpful information prior to our stay about all the things we may do in Maui, restaurants, events, beaches. Della was also very attentive to our needs and went above and beyond our expectation at the end of our stay. We really enjoyed our stay and we would stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!

Wonderful ground floor condo

This was our fourth stay at Kihei Akahi and our first in Della's unit. Della is a pleasure to communicate with and answers questions quickly. The condo is steps away from the pool/BBQ area in a cozy corner in building D. Everything you could possibly need is supplied in the kitchen; the best equipped one we have ever encountered. Beach toys, beach towels, chairs etc. are also provided. We found the bedrooms to be warm but we are super cool sleepers so that is a subjective comment. The AC in the living room does a great job cooling the main living space. The parking spot is very close to the unit which makes unloading groceries etc. very easy. We love ground floors and this one was no exception. It was wonderful to be able to exit from the lanai as it locked with a key - saves walking around to the other side of the building and using an elevator. The condo is a 3 minute walk to the beach (Kam 2) and the grounds are lovely. Good security on site as well. Walking to restaurants and shopping is an added bonus. Don't hesitate to rent from Della. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again for sure!

Lovely Stay

We had a lovey stay here! The lanai was perfect and the proximity to the pool and beach could not be beat. The condo was exceptionally comfortable. Our son absolutely loved being able to explore the grassy area next to the lanai with lots of birds and lizards to see. Della and Keith were warm and very communicative. Would stay again for sure.

Perfect Kihei Getaway

We love this part of Kihei and try to stay here as often as possible. This ground floor condo was perfect for accessing the pool, and an easy walk down to a great swimming beach, restaurants, and stores. Della was super helpful/responsive. Overall a wonderful stay!

This condo was lovely and well equipped. We had plenty of room, there are tons of beach toys and the patio opens up to the grass and a few steps to the pool. The beach is just across the street, which was awesome and we went every day. There are several good food options that even kids can walk to. The condo was just what we needed. AC and easy parking were a plus. Nice washer/dryer. Kihei was not my favorite though. The main drive can get busy at times and the flow of traffic and people can be congested. Besides the beautiful beach across the street, we did do a lot of driving around. Book your tours well in advance as many book up. If you go see whales, don't miss the Maui Ocean Center 3D exhibit, it's a must. We had a great trip, thank you!

We had a wonderful time in Maui. Della was easy to communicate with and shared lots of good information to enhance our stay. The pool was steps from the condo and beach right across the street. Loved having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, perfect for our family of 4. We hope to be back soon!

Awesome location

We had a great time at Della's condo for 2 weeks in Feb/Mar 2022. There was just enough room for my husband and I, plus our 3 children. The murphy bed was great! Della was thorough in her instructions and details, and we didn't need a thing before, during, or after our stay. The condo had everything we needed. It was well equipped kitchen-wise, (we mainly cooked at the condo and barbequed), bathroom-wise (plenty of towels), and ocean-wise (4 or maybe 5 chairs, boogie boards, etc). We just had to purchase laundry detergent and more toilet paper while we were there. There are only 4 beach towels, and 5 of us, but we made do, it wasn't a big deal. We found the condo to run a bit hot, we didn't get much of a breeze with the patio open. But we didn't try leaving the front door open, so maybe that would have done the trick. We were conscious not to use the AC very much. The trek through the complex from the strip to the condo can sometimes be a bit much if you have small children or mobility issues or you're just really out of shape, after a long day, as the condo is set back quite far in the complex. However, there is the option to use the patio door, which cuts the trek a bit, and it's literally just STEPS from the pool/bbq. Nice grassy area to access off the lanai if you want. It's an awesome corner-ish unit in a super nice, quiet location in the complex, with a great parking spot. Perfect location too, literally right across from Kam II beach crosswalk. And so close to Fred's, the pub and the cinnamon roll place! Not much to really complain about, it was a fabulous stay!
