We got there. Very easy and found the cabin nice and clean. Got the code online. Didn't have to deal with anybody. Very nice. Little cabin would recommend it very highly quiet and peaceful and a sweet little cabin.
Did not have any communication with host prior to checking in despite sending 2 messages prior to checking in. Had to finally call for check in directions. Arrived at cabin to find it was not the property we booked. Property we received was a loft. Ladder was difficult to use. Space to sleep was small and very awkward to get up to and down from. Host said it was VRBO fault, VRBO stated this hasn’t ever happened. Was frustrating to be expecting a specific property to arrive And not have it, or to be able to get it.
Had a nice stay in a great spot close the Kestone/Mt Rushmore. Had a small issue with not having the check in info initially but they were great about responding quickly and we were able to access the property. Another hiccup is that the cabin hadn’t been reset yet after the last visitors (bed changed and towels changed) but they quickly had the cleaner come while we went out to eat and it was great once we came back. If you stay here, pack your blow dryer if that’s a necessity for you as I didn’t see one there.
The place itself was fine but from the pictures online we did not get the same place we agreed to. Online there was a one bedroom place with a separate kitchen and dining room area. The place we were given was a loft and no separate kitchen and dining area. The property manager said VRBO takes the pictures and assigns the rooms and the VRBO customer support said the property manager takes the pictures and assigns the rooms. So who knows who to believe. In the end we had no choice but to stay but got a $32 refund from VRBO.
