Unwind next to the firepit in chilly weather, or cool down in the central air conditioning on sunny days. The cottage's open layout allows plenty of natural light to come inside. Amenities include a gas grill, a private washer/dryer, and incredibly fast WiFi to help with your remote work projects. The full kitchen features full-size appliances and equipment enough for enjoying delicious meals together. The richly decorated space allows for comfortable wind-downs and long conversations. Many neighborhood beaches are closed due to the high water level in Lake Michigan. Please research the Michiana beach situation before booking.
The metal spiral staircase is safe for guest use but may require monitoring with younger children (it is not suitable for play).

Hit and miss

Cabin was well appointed and clean. The walk from the cabin to the beach was too far. This place needs bikes or a golf cart to make it more convenient. I advise anyone to check into the fees charge by vasa and VRBO if booking.

Lovely cottage in the woods

This was a great place to stay! It was very clean when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and there were plenty of blankets, towels, etc. It has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. A winding staircase leads to a spacious upstairs bedroom that has a king-sized bed. Both beds were comfortable and had comfortable pillows. There is a cute enclosed porch in the back. We were able to walk to a nice beach which had soft sand and was not too crowded - the day we were there (late July), the water was pretty warm and calm, so perfect for swimming. We were very comfortable here, and would definitely stay at this lovely property again!

We came for my wife’s reunion. It was just the two of us, so the space was perfect. The house was very clean and the kitchen, while small has everything, including new appliances. There is a new couch that is not in the pictures and it is a winner. Both beds are comfortable. The spiral staircase would be tricky if you have mobility issues or vertigo, but the space upstairs has its own bathroom. A great place to stay.

Lovely and clean cottage

The minute we walked in, we could see and smell the cleanliness, nothing overpowering (because I have sensitivities), just smelled fresh! The cottage was stocked with everything we needed to cook, and very tastefully, I might add. We slept in the upstairs loft and the bed was amazingly comfortable, I have back issues and slept like a baby. The back deck and screened-in back area were an added bonus. The location is great, just a bike ride to the beach. We had a wonderful time and we will be back. Thank you Charlie!

Quiet wooded neighborhood.

Recently refreshed interior was cozy. Exterior deck with detached screen room looked very inviting for the summer. Living room was nice sized with fireplace, seating was limited.

We loved it!

Lovely fall weekend

Great escape on a wooded lot

A Perfect Stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at Charlie’s. It is a darling little home close to everything. We will definitely be booking again next year! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need, we loved that part usually when we stay in a VRBO the kitchen is lacking. That was not the case we made so awesome meals and enjoyed time with our friends.

Lovely cottage

Very peaceful. Close in proximity to New Buffalo public beach and Washington park beach. Walking distance to Michiana beach (saw beautiful sunsets). Well stocked kitchen, bathroom and linens. Perfect little getaway.

Charming home with a lovely yard.

Great location and beautiful lawn filled with trees. The home was clean, stocked with kitchen supplies and new appliances. Only issue was the upstairs bed being very uncomfortable/broken frame.

Cute and cozy, but not perfect

The house was adorable. Just how it looks in the pictures, with a well-stocked kitchen. The furnishings were lovely and it was roomy. The three-seasons porch was just adorable, with a lovely space heater it was wonderful to cuddle up in front of with a hot drink. (In the winter- it would be great in the summer, too.) Our biggest complaint was the hot water. It would run hot for a minute or two but then turn lukewarm and then frigid cold in either shower. The rest were small annoyances. The master bed rattled and clanged when we first sat on it, and we found the middle supporting legs were entirely disconnected- when we mentioned this to management, we were told it had apparently "always been that way". The electric to the porch was non-functional, and we had to trip the circuit to get it working again. Early in our visit we had to squash a large cockroach, though we only saw the one- it's clear they have been doing pest management, so hopefully the problem is well on it's way to being resolved. The house would have also benefited from extra linens as it was quite cold, and the heat was set to drop down to 65 over night. But overall, we had a nice stay. There were good restaurant options nearby, the bed was very comfortable (though the living room furniture was not), the yard was spacious- it's a lovely little get away, just needs a little work.

Winter Getaway

We wanted to have a nice quiet getaway. This was the perfect spot. The home was quite, cozy, and clean. It was an easy to walk few blocks from the lake. You could see deer in the yard at night or in the morning. I would recommend this to anyone and would rent it again.
