A lovely property! Exceeded our expectations. The screen porch, with beverage frig, was our adult space!! The kids loved the loft, even put on a puppet show for us. A nice sturdy dock and thank goodness for the warm weather to enjoy the great water toys. We did a lot of fishing. Bon fire right on the lake shore with a beautiful sunset!! AahhhhhJoe, you were incredibly accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
The property had a cozy feel, was easy to find and close enough to a place to get groceries.
The lake was beautiful and we had a wonderful time.

Was a beautiful quiet spot access to Lake Stella to go in the water was shallow enough we could go in and wait around and have fun very nice property the bedrooms each one of them was so separated that they were not next to each other so sleeping was the best very nice place we will go again when the grandkids are bigger and we’ll spend a week there
Very nice lake house and property on a secluded shady private drive. Absolutely gorgeous view of spectacular sunsets over the water. Handy private dock and wooded lot were also big pluses. If you’re looking for that classic lake vacation, this is a great choice.

Raleigh- thanks for spending some time at our little slice of heaven. Thanks for being a great guest and take good care.
We stayed here for a week. The home was clean and tidy. Has a great deck to sit and enjoy the sunsets. We enjoyed sitting in the screened in porch. Joe is a great host. He was responsive to our questions prior to arriving and once we arrived. We will definitely stay again.

Thank you both for being such great guests, in return. We look forward to seeing you next year!
The cabin was well-kept and comfortable. Impressively well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds and the teenage cousins loved sleeping upstairs in the loft. We had an extended family gathering, long overdue with the pandemic. Location is an ideal distance from the cities and allowed for day trips for family that couldn't stay the night. The board games were a blast each evening and tons of interesting books to browse on rainy days. We didn't even turn on the TV! The WiFi was strong. The lawn proved great for lawn games and the water entry was very shallow and sandy. The cabin faces west and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets each night. Loon calls were lovely. Highly recommend!!

Eric- you guys are welcome any time, thanks for being great guests and we're glad it was a hit.
My friend wanted a low-key cabin getaway for her bachelorette party, and Stella's Nest was perfect! 8 people were able to comfortably stay in the main house, and the gazebo was a great spot to keep the coolers, pool floats, and extra drinks. Check-in couldn't have been easier, and Joe was very responsive with all questions. He even left a bottle of wine from the nearby winery, which was a very sweet gesture! The only thing that wasn't ideal was I didn't know he had a boat available for our use until a week before our stay, so we cancelled our rental for another boat because we thought it would be easier to rent Joe's (and it was - I have no pontooning experience, and he called me and walked me through how to use his BEAUTIFUL pontoon!) That said, I could have missed it in the listing, or it might not always be available. Overall, everyone was very impressed with how clean, comfortable, and spacious the cabin was, and we'll definitely keep this cabin in mind for future trips!

About the host
Hosted by Joe Schlueter
We have been on Lake Stella since 1976 and Stella's Nest has been in our family for over 30 years. We grew up local to the area and chose to be on Lake Stella for it's water quality, deep depths and spring fed source.
Why they chose this property
In 1991 we purchased Stella's Nest to take advantage of the double wooded lot, set back cabin, sunset view from deck as well as the uniquely shallow, gradual, pure sand bottom. Three generations of families have learned to swim, fish, canoe, waterski and relax here.
What makes this property unique
A wide variety of birds visit the area. It is a short commute from the cities and it's western location avoids heavy traffic. The house is located on a private drive and quiet location. You have a choice of sun or shade depending on your preferences and weather. A picnic table is located on the deck for your yummy outdoor meals..
