*Please read entire description*
Get ready to soak up the charm of Maine at our cozy oceanfront beach house, perfect for the whole family. Boasting five bedrooms, this home on the beautiful Downeast Maine coast is your ticket to stunning ocean views from almost every room. Picture yourself on your own private beach in our peaceful cove, where you can swim, hunt for sea glass, or just kick back in the sand with a good book. Start your mornings right with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate from our well-stocked coffee bar while you watch the sun paint the sky with breathtaking sunrise hues over the water. Spend your days exploring the great outdoors—take hikes in nearby state parks and wildlife refuges. Check out the shopping scene in downtown Ellsworth with spots like L.L. Bean and Reny’s, the many antique shops, or simply chill on the deck and watch local lobster fishermen work their magic in the cove. Don't forget to save time for exploring the many charming shops and delightful restaurants in Bar Harbor! Evenings are all about family time. Whether you're snuggled up watching movies on our comfy wrap-around sofa, engrossed in competitive board games, or enjoying the crackle of a beachside bonfire while toasting marshmallows, you're in for an unforgettable time.
Get a Taste of the Sea: Make sure you swing by Chipman’s Wharf in Milbridge, where we've got you covered with a complimentary gift certificate. You'll find everything you need for a classic lobster and clam feast, including lobster pots and more, in our well-equipped kitchen.
Discover the Wonders of Acadia: Jump on the ferry from Winter Harbor or take a scenic drive to Acadia National Park, where you'll uncover stunning hikes and the idyllic Sand Beach. It's just under an hour by car, or you can take the ferry. And don't miss Schoodic Peninsula, only 35 minutes away—this unique part of Acadia National Park on the mainland features rugged granite headlands carved by fierce waves and tides.
Explore and Enjoy: For a true maritime experience, hop on a lobster boat with Robertson Sea Tours to see lighthouses, puffins, whales, and more. Nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers will adore the Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge, offering picturesque trails through blueberry barrens, salt marshes, and along the shore. Dive into local art, goodies, and vintage finds at Odds ‘n Ends, or check out Riverlily on Main Street for a truly eclectic shopping spree. And if you're up for tasting some of the best fruit wines and Maine-made rum, don't miss Bartlett Maine Estate Winery in nearby Gouldsboro or the Catherine Hill Winery in Cherryfield.
Summer Delights: From May to September, the Milbridge Farmers’ Market is a hotspot for fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies. And during the summer, groove to the tunes of the Summer Concert Series on the outdoor stage at the Milbridge Theater. Make sure to pop by the Milbridge Historical Society Museum to explore boat models and learn about the fascinating history of shipbuilding and fishing in the area.
We've got all the essentials ready for your stay. Towels, linens, and all the basics are covered. Our kitchen is decked out with all the gadgets and tools you'll need, and the pantry is fully stocked with cooking and baking essentials.
Local Roots: Steuben, Maine, a charming fishing village, marks the beginning of Washington County along US Coastal Route 1—a part of the beloved Downeast Maine. With its roots dating back to 1760, Steuben officially became a town on February 27, 1795. It's named after Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, a German hero who played a pivotal role in the Revolutionary War, helping the Colonies gain independence from Britain and form the United States.
We adore our home, and we're pretty sure you will too!
