The Elk Chalet is a mountain modern home at the top of Sleepy Hollow. Look over the Blue Ridge Mountains & Pisgah National Park at an elevation of 3,300 ft while enjoying your complimentary snacks at our s'mores bar or relaxing in our 5-person hot tub! Located only 12 minutes from Boone or Sugar Mountain with a 33 minute drive to Beech Mountain! Our guests are welcome to the Mill Ridge community tennis courts, seasonal swimming pool, private clubhouse, playground, and hiking trails!

What a great place to stay, cant say enough good things about the experience. House was spotless upon arrival, communication with the homeowner was great from start to finish. Many things to do on the property from the putt putt course to morning coffee and evening drinks by the firepit on the deck. Cant wait to go back and visit again

Quick trip to see the Fall color

We made a quick trip to the mountains to view the incredible fall color and stayed one night at the Elk chalet. The location of the property is perfect! The chalet is very cozy and spacious. The communication with the host was great. We had everything we needed and would definitely stay again.

Such a wonderful stay! In the mountains, peaceful! Didn't even have to worry about critters even though in the mountains. Putput right outside the door, smores bar which was exquisite! The property owners were so helpful and quick responsiveness! Definitely will have to come back and stay longer!!

Family fun!

Such a good time with our family at the Elk Chalet. The house was clean and updated. The beds/sheets were very comfortable. It was roomy enough for 8 adults. The hot tub was ready to go. We all enjoyed our time there and would stay here again. It was a nice walk to the creek below and provided great exercise!

Great mountain getaway!

We enjoyed a quick visit here when taking our kids skiing for a couple of days. The house is spacious, very clean and has fun amenities such as the dart board and outdoor fire pit for s’mores (s’mores fixings included!) A couple of the boys got in and enjoyed the hot tub. This house was a quick drive to sugar mountain. It was great for our group and we would stay again!

Very nice stay for the family

Overall, well done. Thanks for prompt turn around on empty propane tanks. It was a dreary week. The gas fire table came in handy with smores. Everyone slept well. Saw some native wildlife (bear walking down the street, flying squirrel made its way into the fireplace). We were able to get the squirrel out with no issue. All in all nice place. Thanks!

We hope this guide makes you feel as “at home” in the High Country as we do. Enjoy your stay!

Why they chose this property

The coasters, living room coffee table, putting green and dart board wall are all very special features of this house. The coasters were made from a cedar tree that fell in our parent's front yard near Charlotte. This project took an entire summer of transporting, sanding, cutting, and polishing in our free time when we were students at App State. The living room table, putting green, and dart board all use pieces of wood kept safe under the house since it was built. For any woodworking projects, check out @woodworking_with_slim on social media!

What makes this property unique

Our upstairs has an open-concept living room, dining table, and kitchen that all flows to our upper deck complete with propane fire pit and comfortable outdoor furniture. The living room has a sleeper sectional that can comfortably sleep 2-3 people with a propane fireplace to keep you warm! There are 2 bedrooms upstairs including the Kid's Room and King Suite complete with an in-suite bathroom and hall bathroom for the kids and other guests. Upon going downstairs, you will find our kitchenette with bar fridge / wine cooler. Feel free to mix your favorite drinks before heading out to our putting green! Our lower deck has a full putting green with putters and LED balls provided. In the downstairs living room, you will find a 75" 4K Roku TV complete with a Samsung Surround Sound system, indoor electric fireplace, and another sleeper sectional that can comfortably sleep 2-3 people. Make sure to check out our Dart Board as you go down the hallway to our lower bedroom and bath! After your round of mini-golf, make yourself a nice fire in the outdoor fire pit with the wood provided on the lower deck. For any questions about amenities, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
