Our family loved staying in this beautiful colonial home. It was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and had every amenity we wanted. It was minutes away from the sites we wanted to tour, making it a great place to stay and relax afterwards. Highly recommend!
Everything about this location is gorgeous. The house and the yard are beautiful. We had a lovely dinner under the twinkling lights in the backyard. We would absolutely stay again and have recommended the house to friends.
This place was easy to book, nothing confusing or unexpected, hosts were communicative. It was a beautiful house and I wish we had been there longer to enjoy the outdoor areas but the interior was a nice and a great location to stay close to a friend's wedding venue. I would stay again.
What a beautiful house and property! Easy to access from the main road. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are spacious and the view is fantastic. Quiet neighborhood, perfect for stargazing and spotting wildlife. Our kids loved playing on the zip line and swing in the yard.
We stayed for one night for a girls weekend, 3 adult women. The house is STUNNING. Completely renovated farmhouse, with all the amenities and beautifully decorated. There are 3 bedrooms (one is the entire third floor), two bathrooms, one with a claw foot tub. Working fireplace, small but equipped kitchen. The house has a super warm, inviting vibe. Photos are accurate, it’s even cuter in person. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We had a great stay.
Lovely home; perfect for guests without young children or seniors.
Clean, clean, clean. Very pleased with our stay and hosts. Arlynn was very prompt and communicative whenever I had any questions.
We felt very welcome in the lovely home we stayed in. A Christmas tree and some decorations were a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable, soft sheets and again, very clean.
The biggest issue was that there is no bathroom on the ground floor (my dad is 86), and the tub/shower on the second floor is a clawfoot, so it wasn't safe for him to shower or bathe in.
I tried to lower the heat upstairs the first night, but somehow managed to put the thermostat higher instead of lower (very difficult to work, unlike the simple thermostat downstairs), so I had to go online to find the manual at 3 am, which still wasn't helpful :( So directions on how to use the upper flower thermostats would be helpful for future guests.
Minimal pots/pans & kitchen tools, if you plan on cooking.
Since we stayed in December, we didn't venture outside, but I am sure the deck and outdoor furniture would be fabulous during the warmer months.
I would definitely recommend this rental as long as you don't have an elderly guest, or young children (the bathroom issue, and lots of stairs).
PS Since we had 6 of us staying, I was concerned about all of us fitting/seating around the small dining table, but it was totally fine.
We loved the seclusion of this property, and it was a very short drive to Harpers Ferry, our destination. If you are cooking all your meals you may want to purchase your food before arrival and bring specialty cooking/baking pans if you plan to do any gourmet cooking. Utensils were adequate for a group of 3 but minimal for a larger group. Bedrooms are spacious and the beds were so comfy we found it difficult to ' rise and shine'.
We had a wonderful time here. The house is beautiful and charming, and in a great location to visit friends, family, and places in Purcellville and Hillsboro.
