The property was nice and sizeable for the occasion I think the outside area upkeep could have been kept up better the property is very family friendly not really wheelchair friendly or walker it is a beautiful view of the lake although it is alot of steps to get down to the lake the property is very pet friendly the host was great. I would visit this property again
We really enjoyed our weekend at this home, very spacious with good supplies. The river was great and we experienced very little traffic. Only note is lack of garbage disposal and number of bathrooms lacking for larger group. Would definitely stay again.
We had a great time at the house. It was properly stocked, having the tram is a must for the dock. We brought our boat and our German Shepherd and we all had a great time! Excellent communication from owners, fantastic part of the lake up river so you don’t have a lot of boat traffic. We tubed and didn’t hardly see any other boats out there even on weekend. Dock is great, very well thought out with bumpers and all, very comfortable and relaxing.
Beautiful waterfront property in a quiet and peaceful location. My husband and I are teachers who needed a few days away before we return to school and Jody’s amazing lake house was the perfect place to do just that. We enjoyed swimming off the dock and taking a day trip to nearby Cheaha State Park. The house is very spacious and would easily accommodate a large family or two. With 5 bedrooms to choose from and two outside decks, there is plenty of space for everyone. We would absolutely stay here again! Thanks Jody!
This property offered our family a chance to enjoy spending time together in a beautiful laid back setting. The views From the decks were phenomenal. The house was lovely and everything the photo listings showed. There were lots of stairs so I will say if you have trouble climbing steps this property could pose an issue other than that don’t hesitate to rent this property and invite your whole family. Can’t wait to go back again.
This property is very clean and spacious. We did not use the water amenities due to our winter visit but I could see that there are lots of activities available. The stairs to the river are quite steep going down, as the driveway to the home is quite steep going up. But there were no problems for us to get to the property. Very quiet area at least during February. We enjoyed hiking in the Talladega Nat Forest. Very pretty sunsets there. We would highly recommend staying here.
The property is a great quiet retreat to disconnect from the everyday hustle and bustle! We visited in late March, did a little fishing, enjoyed nature and the peace and quiet. Went hiking nearby at the Talladega National Forrest where we found incredible views and a view waterfalls. In the evenings we were able to enjoy some local eatery's both Bobbers and Boondocks were very enjoyable meals.
As for property specific - If visiting in the spring, you should know that the water levels are likely low, which will make fishing and swimming difficult. Yes, there are a lot of steps, we didn't opt for the trolley, but if we were staying longer than the extended weekend, it would have been a must. A few reviews mention the furniture being dated, keeping in mind this is a summer getaway for the owners and should be thought of as such, the furniture is plenty acceptable. The owners were great at communicating the expectations and information needed to make this stay exactly what we were seeking.
The property was as described. The home lovely. Everything worked as it should, except the tram :-( Recognizing the tram was an additional expense so i lost nothing (except calories), it was out of commission during our stay. There are a LOT of stairs to get to the lake. Without the tram it was more work getting stuff up and down. None the less, the homeowner was very responsive and professional. I would gladly stay again! Thank you for everything!
Side note for future guests- take the homeowners advice and go to Wedowee for groceries and needed items. Lineville is about the same distance, but Wedowee is much nicer and has more options.
Great place for children the two small bedroom perfect for them.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There are a few small things, like all the doors in the house did not close very well. The home is beautiful, and we had 11 people. The house was a perfect size for us but be prepared for steps. We loved the large porches, both upstairs and downstairs, with a great river view. The house was a little dusty, but we stayed in the off-season. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and still getting to visit with each other. We enjoyed out stay.
Has potential to be a really wonderful place to get away with the family. The house is very high above the water which provides a beautiful view and would provide a great opportunity to earn your daily steps if you want to go to the water!
The furniture was not in good condition-inside or outside - proving to be somewhat uncomfortable for our large group. Lots of sleeping room and great master bathroom but the middle rooms are unique and only the short people could sleep there because their heads did not touch the ceiling. Those rooms would be great for children.
The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of space and perfect for spreading out food.
Washer and dryer worked great as well!
Group of 5 adults traveled for hiking and outdoor adventuring. The house was perfect for us. We loved the location once we got used to the steep driveway hill. It was an easy drive to Cheaha State Park and Kymuglua Grist Mill Park and Covered Bridge. Anyone bringing gear for boating WILL want the Tram. We counted 90 steps down from the house to the dock. We weren't there for watersports this visit, but the setup is perfect. The upstairs livingroom/dining room is a bit tight but we spent hours enjoying the deck when we wanted to spread out. The second living area downstairs was perfect for when we separated to settle down for the night. All of the beds we used were quite comfortable. The propane fire pit was a great touch for when we gathered to watch sunrise and sunset. We saw deer, rabbits, and chipmunks. There was no road traffic noise, and not much boat noise so we could hear nature in all her glory. House is listed as kid friendly, but be aware that the stairs to the downstairs bedrooms are a steep and small children (or an elderly grandma) would need to be watched carefully on them. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals daily. The owner was quick to respond to questions both before we booked and during our travel. It made for a great home away from home. Would stay again without hesitation.
We enjoyed our stay! The house is lovely, well maintained and very accommodating for our family. The tram was an added blessing for anyone with knee problems. An outdoor dining table would be an awesome addition to the wrap around deck, and maybe more lamps in the basement rooms. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely waterfront home. The house was roomy enough for 9 people to gather together to eat and play games and also have our own space when needed. The house was clean and well equipped. My son caught a bass on the river. The teens enjoyed a refreshing swim off the newly refinished dock. The owner was helpful and was quick to answer questions.
