Great property to rent by the lake. The host was friendly and provided great recommendations. The house was clean and had amenities available for activities around - boardgames, kayaks, bonfire etc.We had a very pleasant time at the lodge.
We stayed at this property for a week after a family wedding. It was tranquil. The home is lovely. The accessibility worked great for my 86 year-old father. Would definitely recommend.
The property was beautiful and clean. We had a problem at the time of check-in because the owner gave us the wrong code but they were very responsive and gave us other codes as soon as we contacted them about the issue. Other than that the location was nice and the house has all the amenities. It would be nice if they had Wi-fi too. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.
I stayed here with a bunch of extended family members for our cousin's wedding at the Lucerne Inn. The location couldn't have been more perfect and the property/house was stunning! We had the best stay. Remember to bring shampoo/conditioner/body soap since the house did not have any in any of the bathrooms. Our favorite part was the cozy nook in the living room area and the fire pit outside which the host was kind enough to get started for us. Thank you!!
Overall this house was awesome! We really enjoyed the lake & the use of lake toys. We didn’t miss not having a TV or A/C. Temps were perfect at night. Beds were comfy. More towels & beach towels would have been nice. The owners were very friendly; they stopped over several times to check on us. We had a lovely Maine vacation away from the hustle & bustle of Bar Harbor. Cannot wait to come back!
This property is a gem! It was extremely clean, beautifully furnished with comfortable beds, designed with a functional layout, and stocked with all you could want/need. My family of six (2 adults and 4 kids ages 10-15) along with my parents (mid 70’s) found it extremely comfortable. My girls adored the kayaks, we cooked out using the grill, and it was the perfect home base while we did things in the area (Acadia NP and Bar Harbor). Paulina was responsive and helpful, and check in and out were easy and seamless. You won’t be disappointed!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
A spotless, beautiful, gracious house that feels like a real home. Great communication. Quiet and restful inside and out. Bonus use of kayaks, canoe, and paddle board. Great for swimming.
Downsides: No A/C, so you have to manage windows/shades/fans. Oddly soft mattress in master bedroom.
Note: There is no TV.
We will gladly stay again. Absolutely loved it.
We all had a wonderful time. The property was beautiful and serene. The lighting could have been a bit better in the kitchen as we had a hard time seeing our cards when we were playing. Also, when we arrived at 5, an hour after checkin, there was not a gas tank on the grill. We had to track down the property manager by asking other tenants. After traveling to get there, all we wanted to do is throw some burgers on the grill.
This host thinks of EVERYTHING. Laundry soap, first aid kit, a place to wash your feet before entering the porch from the beach….She even came over to solve a problem with the WIFi something like ten minutes after I messaged. We will stay here again!
Three caveats: 1) There is no A/C. 2. The shades are not room-darkening. 2) Two of the upstairs beds are exceedingly soft; if I were the owner I would replace them.
Beautiful home with views of the lake that’s mere steps away! We used this as our home base as we explored Acadia National Park. In the evenings we hung out by the lake enjoying swimming and a fire. Would definitely visit again.
This house was perfect for three families meeting up, with one member having MS and needing the ADA accommodations. We had a great time despite the abnormal heat/humidity. The lack of AC made it a bit more uncomfortable at times but considering it’s rarely needed in northern Maine, we understood. And we used the screened in porch a lot, esp during the cooler nights. The only thing we could’ve used was wifi as my husband ended up needing to work and using our hotspot was iffy at times.
The kids loved having the kayaks and canoe available and the lake was beautiful and clear. Everyone wished our trip was two weeks and not just one.
Thanks for a great house!
I grew up spending summers at Green Lake with my extended family while living in Germany, and love coming back more frequently now that I work in New York. My family and I are excited to be able to share this amazing spot with visitors from around the world and hope that you will enjoy Green Lake, Acadia / MDI and the entire Downeast area as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
Our extended family has vacationed around Green Lake for over 100 years, and we were so excited to find a place of our own just around the corner from our extended family cottage. This house is one of 3 that was owned by another family, our grandparents were close friends, and we spent over 2 years completely renovating and updating all houses to create spaces that can be enjoyed for generations to come.
