Secluded Cabin - Mountain Views with Nature Trail Along River
Looking for a beautiful mountain view plus river access? Five Ridge Bluff has it all. Located in Cherrylog, Georgia, on 120 acres of private and SECLUDED land, between the picturesque mountain towns of Ellijay and Blue Ridge, Five Ridge Bluff boasts a splendid MOUNTAIN VIEW, abundant wildlife and native rhododendron, as well as over a mile of HIKING TRAILS along the Ellijay River. This site is named Five Ridge Bluff for the five ridges visible from the covered porch, the farthest being the Tennessee Valley Divide, commonly referred to as the 'Blue Ridge'. Truly a splendid view.
This 1400 square foot, non-Smoking cabin has three bedrooms and two baths, with each bedroom uniquely decorated. The Georgia Coast, or master bedroom, houses a king-size bed, sitting area, a jacuzzi in the ensuite master bath, and a walk-in closet. The Southwest bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and the Georgia Country bedroom has two twin beds. The wrap-around deck has a five-person hot tub and barbecue grill. An outside fire pit for camp fires is also provided, as well as a hiking trail which takes you through the woods, along the river, through the rhododendron forest, and wraps back around to the cabin. An outdoor target shooting range is also available on the private property. All conveniences of a family home are provided for your comfort -- and we pride ourselves on CLEANLINESS!
Fishermen can enjoy over 3/4 of a mile of available fishing along a native mountain stream, all on private land. Hike along the river and explore the native flora, have a picnic in the gazebo by the river, let the kids splash in the water at the island in the river, enjoy the private outdoor shooting range, or just relax on the covered porch and watch the sun set as the geese fly by on their way to Goose Island. It is not uncommon to see deer feeding close to the cabin during the early morning or twilight hours.
Convenient access to activities, including only twenty minutes to the beautiful White Path golf range, or less than 60 minutes to Whitewater Rafting on the Ocoee River, site of the 1996 Olympics. Horseback riding, antique shopping, fine restaurants, and many more outdoor activities are close by in Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Only a little over an hour from Atlanta or Chattanooga. For back to nature seclusion combined with convenient access to a wide variety of activities, come to Five Ridge Bluff!

We loved the cabin and location. The property itself was amazing, and Sharon was very welcoming. We went hiking almost every day. It was so nice to be able to hike without having to drive somewhere. We really enjoyed the peacefulness and quietness. We saw deer almost daily. It was fun having a campfire every night, too. It’s just nice to feel so secluded. We would definitely return!
A very clean cabin with all the amenities you would need. The owner/manager was extremely helpful and available. The view from porch is amazing The drive up to cabin was daunting. The directions by owner were very precise but also very remote The king bedroom is hugeLoved the hot tub after a busy day It was a great home away from home
Very clean property and cabin is set up perfectly. What a view to the west. Great for morning coffee and to catch the sunset. Perfectly located to easily enjoy both Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Very private feel and away from noise.
This cabin is amazing - it has everything. Incredible mountain views and sunset. Was very clean and well appointed. There is a nature walk along the river on property, with a bridge to a little island perfect for a picnic. The shooting field was a fun bonus. The host was incredible. Very private and was a very large property.
Such an amazing stay! The cabin has everything you could possibly need and more, clean, beautiful location and so peaceful! I would highly recommend! We will definitely return!

Thank you, Sarah, for your lovely review. We look forward to seeing you again!
Cabin was awesome, trail to the river was great, weather was a mix of rain and sun and the cabin was great in both cases. Enjoyed watching the rain come over the incredible mountain view from the porch! A
The cabin was perfect. The owners were amazing to work with. Being between Elijay and Blue Ridge was very nice. So much to do outside of those two areas also.

Awesome Place!!!
Great place to come and blow off some steam (gun range is a major plus). Nice hiking trails, great island to lounge and swim. Would definitely like to rent this place again.
Our family had a great time at the cabin. It was me, my hubby, and our children ages 11, 7, and 5. The cabin was a great fit for our family. We felt we had privacy and the views were beautiful. We loved exploring the property. The location was perfect to get around to hiking spots and downtown Blue Ridge.
Wife and I enjoyed the weekend together at this beautiful property in Cherry Log, GA. We took in the views, hiked the nature trail, was surrounded in running water on the little island which was incredibly peaceful. Even utilized the shooting range for some much needed practice. The morning and evening views of the mountains was incredible, just sat and watched in serenity as birds sang and others soared on the mountain peaks. Highly recommend!
This property is absolutely amazing! The views are incredible, it's very private and peaceful. The nature trail is a MUST do. You can fish, hike, take in the views, soak in the comfortable hot tub, grill a great meal, and relax by a fire. The owners have put so much work and love into this place. It was a pleasure meeting Mike, and we will definitely be back. A truly unique experience!
The cabin is very good and well equipped. The walking trail is very nice and convenient to the cabin. The dog, Buster is a very nice pet and was with us most of the time. We had a toilet malfunction which made it inconvenient since it was the master bedroom toilet upstairs. The owner did everything he could to get a plumber out but the plumber didn't show in the three days we were there. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would consider going back.

We would like to clarify that our guests were not without a toilet. There is another bathroom which is outside the master suite. Also, in the 16 years that we have been renting our cabin, this is the first time this has occurred. Not likely to be a problem for future visitors!
Short review…just book it now.
Absolutely beautiful and private location. Upon arrival we walked the trail to the river. Kids spent 4 hours exploring and catching fish.
The cabin is fully equipped, spices, pots, pans, coffee, coffee filters. The fireplace is easy to use and throws excellent heat. Cabin is 3 bedroom, 2 bath. Hot tub was amazing as were views of the mountains.
Lots of state parks/hiking trails close by, but the property is so big, we spent our entire time hiking down to the river and surrounding area.
Excellent communication from our hostess, Sharon, who was easily reached by phone. We are already planning a trip back.

Wow this was really a pre...
Wow this was really a pretty, clean & fun home to rent. I will say the creek is not right by the home, you have to hike to get down to it, but that was my family's favorite thing to do.(A little strenuous for anyone not in shape.)We loved this home and would definitely come back. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Mike for being so polite and a great host. Thank you Sharon for making sure this cabin has everything you need for the stay! Also we loved hanging out with Dixie & Samson. We'll be back!

We want to thank the Fenders for their comment. We always love to have comments from our guests. A little clarification -- the "creek" is really a small river. It is the waters of the upper Ellijay River. It is about a 5-10 minute walk to the river (depending upon how fast you walk), but you can also get to the river by a 2-minute drive down our private road for those who prefer not to walk.

Birthday Week!
I live in FL and needed some mountain time for my 40th birthday with some good girlfriends! I found this cabin and couldn't wait to go. We met Mike and he was very helpful and kind! The cabin was cute with a small living room and kitchen. The kitchen was FULLY STOCKED! That was nice. We loved the hot tub on the deck. That was really comfortable. Being a HUGE dog person, I especially LOVED their pups coming to the cabin, hiking and spending time with us. I also loved the hiking trail. The river was beautiful, and would have loved to go swimming if the temperature had been a little warmer.
There were just a couple of things that I would like to see improved before I go back. THE BEDS. When I stay somewhere for 5 nights, I like to have a comfortable night's sleep. The master bed was okay with nice pillows. A bit on the firm side for myself. The queen room's bed was VERY FIRM. The pillows were flat, paper thin. The owners said that there were others in a closet, but we didn't see any. The twin beds were so soft that when you sat in them, they almost sank to the floor. I guess it would be okay for kids, because they are kids, but not okay for my grown friends. They didn't sleep well at all.
The other problem is that I am a bit of a klutz, but the stairs are very slippery and I fell. Hard. Made the rest of the trip very difficult as I was in great pain, and I fell the first day I was there. Ended up with a broken rib. There is no tread or traction on the stairs, and they are wood. Be careful!!!
We ended up having a very nice time. I would recommend this property to someone if the bedding could be improved, but I would not recommend it to a large party. 4 max as the livingroom is a very small space.

We regret that Kerri and her friends had less than a perfect stay. In more than 13 years of renting our cabin, we have never had a complaint about the sleeping accommodations, nor have we had anyone fall on the stairs. Obviously, we cannot provide everyone with the exact degree of firmness that they prefer in their mattress or pillow, but we try to meet personal tastes by providing a variety. There are 10 pillows in the cabin of 5 different types. We have feather pillows, fluffy poly-filled pillows, and firmer, thinner foam pillows. We also have hypoallergenic covers on our pillows. The extra pillows are always in the bedroom closets, as they were in this case. If Kerri had looked, or given us a quick call, she would have found them. The mattresses are of good quality. The king bed is medium firm, the queen bed is a little firmer, and the two twin beds have a soft and plush pillow-topper, of the type that is so popular these days. As said, we try to provide a variety for everyone's preference. The stairs are standard wooden stairs with a rise and a tread that exceed safety standards, and with a hand rail. We do not know the details that caused Kerri's fall, and regret that she had a fall, but the stairs are safe and not slippery. We do not wax or use any slippery product on the stairs. As stated previously, in our 13 years of renting, no one has fallen down the stairs.
The cabin has three bedrooms and is very comfortable to accommodate 6 guests. We have had groups of 8 many, many times with very enjoyable experiences and no complaints about space. The maximum allowed is 8.
We hope this throws some light on these issues and provides clarification for our future renters.

Having owned and just sold a cabin very close to this property on the same river, we were excited to find this rental on a gorgeous piece of property. The views from the cabin are fantastic but the real gem is the river..peaceful and secluded with no other cabins around, making it feel that you have the whole river to yourselves. Already booked our next stay!
2nd stay at a Great getaway not too far from ATL. Very comfortable cabin and always like hiking down and hanging out at the river. Awesome view from the deck with hot tub! Made a trip to Ellijay downtown for a something difference from Blue Ridge. Cool shops, food and laid back. We did go hear some live music in Blue Ridge too.

About the host
Hosted by Mike and Sharon
We have lived in this beautiful part of North Georgia for 40 years, and in 2003 felt a desire to share our 'piece of paradise' with others. So, we built a rental cabin on our 120 acres. This allows others to share the pleasure of our natural environment in a secluded forest, away from the busy world, yet conveniently located to go to all those outside activities. There are no other rental cabins on our property. Your own private resort!
Why they chose this property
Beginning in 1972, we started building our home in the mountains to retreat from the frantic city life in Atlanta. We moved into our mountain home in 1977, and have never looked back!
What makes this property unique
At Five Ridge Bluff, you have the advantage of having a gorgeous mountain view plus access to the Ellijay River. A mile long nature trail goes from the cabin to the river and runs along its banks -- all on private property. Along the trail you will find spots to fish, play in the river, picnic, or sunbathe. Also, a shooting range is on the property for target practice. Since it is all on private property, you have it all to yourself! The cabin is also conveniently located between the popular mountain towns of Blue Ridge and Ellijay, and accessible to a large variety of outdoor activities. All household necessities are provided. We even have a generator in case the power goes out!
