One of which is literally a healthy stone's throw from your cottage, the Queen's Head in Troutbeck village is renowned for its excellent food, Cumbrian produce and cosy fireside ambience. Perfect for a special occasion.

Continue onto Glenridding . Park the car and take the lake steamer boat on Ullswater to Howtown and stop for high teas at the Howtown hotel pub / Tea rooms
For exploring further afield, despite the blissfully secluded feel of Troutbeck Valley, you're never too far from the main linking roads throughout the Lake District.
If you after a decent walk and the weather is fair
• tackle the circular walk of Helvellyn over striding edge, starting and ending in Glenridding. ( check the weather, pack wet weather gear and snacks) you will not be disappointed!
• Visit Grasmere – Home of Wordsworth and Dove cottage Walk around the village & church
• Drive over Redbank to Elterwater into the Langdale Valley and stop at the new Dungeon Gylll Pub, Park up and walk up to Stickle Tarn.
