About this property

Cedar Woods RV4- Mountain View, Gated Resort, Indoor/Outdoor Pools and Hot Tub

Bed Configuration: Queen (Primary Bedroom, Main Floor), Queen (Guest Bedroom, Upstairs), Queen (Upstairs), Sleeps 6

Description: Delightful condo! Grandfather mountain views. Private corner unit.

“Hi Lights" is a designer owned home with a fun whimsical vibe. Lots of color inside with changing seasonal color outside. Sunlight throughout the day with a southwest exposure.

This floor plan is called a Cedar Woods. Entry to the unit is up seven steps from the sidewalk. There is another two-floor unit below. Glass front door and sidelights make for a spacious bright foyer. Door is flanked by two iron urns on the porch. Plenty of parking. Newly installed combination lock means no more fumbling for keys. To the right is a powder room and to the left is a handy laundry room complete with utility sink. It has three large bedrooms plus den with two and a half baths. Sleeps six in three queen-sized beds. Perfect for two to three adult couples.

The focal point is the dramatic two-story windows overlooking Grandfather Mountain. They pop out the minute you enter. Couch is angled enough to take in that view as well as the fireplace. Soaring stone chimney stops at the cathedral ceiling. The living room coffee table is packed with an old brass instrument collection.Great conversation piece. Did you play in the band?

Spacious u-shaped kitchen and dining room also face the mountains. The small kitchen cart comes in handy when taking items out of the French door refrigerator. You can see the large, screen TV and fireplace from the sink, plus keep an eye on your guests. Door to the left of the fireplace leads to the private deck from the living room. No need to say “Hi” to your neighbors as you will barely see them.

Hightop dining table between the kitchen and living room is the perfect spot for not just meals but makes a good workspace. Seats six with three upholstered chairs and three revolving stools.

The master bedroom is on this floor, too. It opens onto the outside deck. The en-suite bath has two sinks with a wall-to-wall mirror and huge walk-in-closet.This leads to a separate space with a soak tub, toilet, and shower. Lots of sun in late afternoon.

Remaining two bedrooms and den are on the top floor with an additional bath. Den with loveseat, chair and TV overlook the vaulted living room with large floor to ceiling windows. Extra character is added with a vintage piece of stained glass.

Owner has furnished this property with many items from her personal collection. An antique metal carousel horse from a child’s carousel in San Diego hangs from the ceiling. The thin eight-foot-long entry table features many unique items. Some guests say it is like going into an antique shop. Lots to look at.

Being the corner unit on the top two floors makes this property especially desirable. No footsteps from the floor above. Deck is perfect for morning coffee, checking e-mails on the bistro table and listening to birds. Small glider on the deck is a relaxing spot for a nap. Table lamp next to the wicker chair gives off a warm glow after the sunset. And being the last unit on the block makes for maximum privacy. **No smoking or pets(owners exempt) are allowed. 4-wheel drive recommended in winter months.

The resort is first class. Indoor and outdoor(seasonal May 1st - Oct. 1st) pool, hot tubs. Fitness center, and two club houses. There is a stocked fishing pond and a 25-acre river-front park.

Banner Elk is a charming little town with larger towns nearby. Boone is a college town with a greater selection of practical stores. Guests just love the beauty of nearby Blowing Rock with hanging flower baskets and boutiques. Lots of outstanding restaurant choices in all three areas. Being on the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking is supreme! Look for waterfalls and caverns. A terrific place to relax, enjoy nature, shop, antique and get as much exercise as you like.

Summer brings the perfect weather!

Fall is an outstanding display of color!

And winter is simply a holiday card!

Amazing location in between Boone and Banner Elk. Beautiful property that is well maintained. Felt private and secluded even with it being a multi-unit building. We will be back in the near future for sure.

Annual Family Ski Trip

This was our 5th year family ski trip. We love this area. There's so many different things to do. This is a beautiful place. It was equipped with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Really nice bathtub. Amazing view! The upstairs got really hot. We were not able to use the fireplace & we had to set our thermostat on 64 which makes it cold downstairs. Otherwise, those who slept upstairs would smother. We stayed just across the road on our last trip. We did not like the long, steep, winding road up on our last visit. We chose this one because on the map it showed being much closer to Banner Elk. We were deceived & are very disappointed. We didn't receive the true address until we booked & then driving there, realized it was not the area we agreed to! Lorie B
