We had a wonderful time. We were able to have a downtime family Christmas. The place was charming and historic and had all of the comforts of home. We were able to have a real Christmas tree. Thank you Peter!
Scenic Location, Safe, Cute little Town.. Properly was clean and big.. and all the amenities where there... everything you will need was there.. nothing to complain about.
The house was good but I would be careful of the stairs and a lack of railing at the very top. Cute town and we enjoyed dinner at the Pick and Shovel restaurant.
House was great! Only bummer, which wasn’t their fault, was that the entrance to the national park that is close to the house is closed indefinitely because of a bridge that closed down. That was why we chose to stay there…so that changed our plans.
Great location in sweet tiny town of Wilkeson and very convenient to National Park.
House has everything needed for a Wilkeson type stay.
Thanks for the coffee!
Wilkeson is a small and quiet town. The property itself was fantastic for what we needed. The owners were easy going and easy to work with us in our accommodations. I would rent from them again if I come to the area again.
This property was magical! It was quiet, clean and had everything we needed for our trip. Our grandkids were busy with all the games that were provided and the creek that ran in the back also provided entertainment and relief on those hot June days we stayed. It was close enough to town for necessity shopping, restaurants and, our favorite, Costco. The cute little soda shop across the street provided us with yummy coffee and treats and the "haunted" hotel/brothel made for a memorable time. Just be sure that you are physically able to go up/down steep stairs to get to the bedrooms. If given the opportunity to visit Washington again, we would definitly stay here. Mahalo nui loa, means thank you very much

Nice quiet stay
We had a nice stay in wilkeson it is a very small town but enjoyed walking around. The house met our basic needs. The stairs were a bit of a struggle for all of us. They are not pictured and were very steep. They were also very dirty my toddler didn’t miss pointing out the dead bugs. We did have a problem with the smoke alarms. After we cooked one morning they just kept going off which made it very frustrating to try to put a baby down for naps during this time. We finally had to deactivate them to stop them from going off. Other than that we liked the house it was fantastic to be able to do laundry. The location was great for the events we were attending in the surrounding area.
This is a good option to escape to a quiet peaceful and safe small town. Close to trails and lakes etc. This is and old property - it feels a bjt tilted but its "cozy". The stairs to the bedroom are really steep. There is a fire pit in the backyard perfect for making s'mores. They didn't provide shampoo and conditioner and there was no hair drier. The beds are doubles FYI. Kitchen has all appliances needed but the fridge water is not working so buy some water in town.

Hi Flavia,
Hope you enjoyed your stay. Your initial inquiries addressed proximity to a local summer camp & reliable Wi-Fi. This property met those concerns. This is an original Home (the exception being Rewired & Plumbed to Code) left from the Minning heyday of the early 1900’s. We’ve included lots of pictures and even call it a “Miners House”. There are 2 Queen Beds and One Full Size Bed, each in their own bedroom. Regarding shampoo & conditioner, we leave the choice of personal toiletries to our guests. We do, however, supply hand soap & hand sanitizer, as noted in our description. A hair dryer is something we will purchase & provide for future guests. The stairs are steep,1900’s style, but there is a very secure handrail and an additional landing to assist anyone traversing the stairs. Regarding the water. You can pour a glass from the kitchen faucet, there is no need to purchase bottled water. The Town of Wilkeson has it’s very own well, which is tested annually and has supplied water to its citizens for over 125 years.

It should have been advertised that there was no air conditioning, I would not have spent 500 dollars for two nights stay knowing it was going to be so dang hot. It was 100 degrees outside and so hot inside that my family could not even go upstairs to sleep. We had to make a bed on the floor downstairs under the only working fan in the living room to try and get cool. We had to sleep with frozen water bottles on our bodies just to stay cool and even that was not enough. It was the most miserable weekend I have had. I raced an Ironman Saturday in the 100 degree heat and to have to come back to a house that is as hot inside as it was outside was miserable and frustrating. We got no rest, no sleep, just sweating all weekend long.
Peter and Kathy were amazing to book with. The whole booking and check in was painless and the property was beautiful. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area!
We had such a great stay! We loved being so close to town and the mountains, and we had fun exploring local history. The house had plenty of space for us and a well-stocked kitchen. The beds were cozy, and the house was so charming. Our kids loved it and were already asking to come back again beofre we even left!
Came in for my niece's wedding. Enjoyed the small town coffee shop and saloon across the street. Wish we would've had more time to explore the area. Owners responded quickly when I had an issue at the house. Woukd definitely stay there again. Thank you so much for your hospitality!!!
Very close to Carbon River and Mowich Lake entrance to Mt Rainier. Thankful to find lodging during wildflowers peak and meteor showers. Quant “ Little House on the PRAIRIE” town. 0lder remodeled house with personality! Service animals not allowed which was our only challenge.
Mt. Rainier easy access to Carbon River/Mowich Lake Trails
A great place for our family to call home base while hiking in Mt. Rainier National Park. Enjoyed a glass of wine in the yard at the end of the day while talking about our day. The nearby restaurants/coffee shop made our short stay easy but the kitchen was great if we had chosen to cook.
The house was set on a lot of land and very welcoming. The only drawback was my husband and I only got a few hours of sleep both night because the bedrooms were uncomfortably hot. It just need better airflow or AC.
The Miners Cabin was great and well equipped! Host answered questions quickly. The location was great. The small town had several unique eateries that were also a good experience. We would definitely stay again if coming back to Rainier!
