About this property

Private Luxury Cabin, Stunning Mountain Views & Hot Tub by Shenandoah

Lazy Bear Oaks offers your own private mountain sanctuary with year-round Blue Ridge Mountain vistas. Set beside pristine wildlife lands, it’s a cozy-luxury retreat wrapped in nature.

Rustic charm meets modern luxury in this turn-of-the-century cabin. Redwood siding, a patinaed copper roof, and a stacked fieldstone fireplace showcase timeless craftsmanship. Inside, post-and-beam construction and heated pine floors are complemented by carefully selected antiques, hand-painted artwork, and authentic taxidermy, creating a warm, character-filled retreat.

Enjoy sunsets from the western-facing balcony or sip morning coffee on the screened porch. Fire up the grill for a flavorful meal or gather around the natural-stone firepit for s’mores under a star-studded sky. Follow step stones and landscape lighting to a spacious 636 sq. ft. deck with outdoor dining, lounge seating, and a 5-person hot tub overlooking the mountains.

Comfortable and well-appointed sleeping spaces:
- Main floor bedroom: Queen Tempur-Pedic Cloud with barnwood furniture, full bath with walk-in shower
- Upstairs bedroom: Queen Beautyrest, full bath with a clawfoot tub/shower
- Basement: Queen sleeper sofa, full bath with walk-in shower
- Loft: Twin sleeper chair

Whether you’re here to recharge, explore, or simply take in the views, your escape awaits at Lazy Bear Oaks!

NOTES

We want you to have a 5-star stay. Please be aware of the following:

SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK
We are 18 miles (29 minutes) from the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park.

INTERNET & CELL SERVICE
High-speed internet is available for streaming, and the smart TV has popular apps. Most cell providers have coverage, but roads and areas leading to the cabin have intermittent service. There is also a blue ray player with a small library of movies. HDMI and C-port video cables are already connected to the TV.

FIREWOOD & PROPANE
Firewood and propane for the fire table and grill are provided at the start of the season, but they are not regularly restocked. Guests are welcome to use any remaining supplies, or you can pick more up at the nearby country store (about 15 minutes away).

DRIVEWAY & WEATHER
The cabin is accessed by an uphill gravel driveway suitable for standard two-wheel-drive vehicles. Guests should monitor weather and road conditions and plan accordingly during the winter months.

MOUNTAIN ENVIRONMENT
Surrounded by woods, insects and wildlife are a natural part of the environment. Despite regular pest control, some insects may find their way indoors. The cabin also has a screened porch for enjoying the outdoors.

CHILDREN & HOT TUB
Best suited for couples or adult groups. Children 5+ are welcome, and we ask that adult guests supervise them closely and bring anything they may need to stay comfortable and safe. The space isn’t childproofed and doesn’t include child-specific amenities. The hot tub is for adults only.

NO PETS
Pets are strictly prohibited due to guest and family allergies. Unauthorized pets will result in a $500 violation fee, reimbursement for any additional cleaning or remediation costs, and may result in immediate termination of the reservation without refund.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. As a small vacation rental with limited availability, we follow our published cancellation policy. Travel insurance may provide coverage for unforeseen events that impact your travel plans.

LONGER STAYS
For stays longer than 7 days, the trash cans may fill up before checkout. Guests can take trash to the local transfer station (about 20 minutes away) at no cost or arrange a mid-stay trash pickup service for an additional fee.

SECURITY HOLD
A temporary $500 security authorization is placed on the card on file during the stay. This is not a charge and is released afterward, provided no damages, excessive cleaning, or additional charges are incurred.
