Bayview Villa- Pet-Friendly Waterfront Paradise. A fisherman's dream!
We have recently completed an inside and outside renovation. The Bayview Villa is a private, secluded villa facing Florida Bay and in view of the fabulous Everglades and gorgeous sunsets. Quick access to offshore fishing. Located in a lush tropical hammock in a quiet, one acre residential area (rare). The villa is approx. 30 feet from the water. The property contains a wading beach and a free marina with night lights, power and water. An enclosed patio offers private outdoor grill and dining.
The villa itself comes with a fully-equipped new stainless kitchen, full size LG washer and dryer, linens, two queen and one king beds, Cable TV, and a dining room. French doors in the dining area face the bay, spacious 700 square foot patio, and marina giving the feeling of the outdoors being in. Beautiful glass block showers with pebble floors are in both baths.
Islamorada proudly calls itself the 'Fishing Capital of the World' but there is so much more to do

We stayed at Mitchell’s bay view villa early January this year, it was a return visit Fabulous setting for this very comfortable and clean villa. Bob Mitchell, the owner, is a charming gentleman, who lives nearby, plenty of good eating places within walking distance and the sunsets are fantastic viewing from the boat dock
When you walk in the front door of this little villa, you are immediately drawn to the wide back doors and the beautiful water view beyond. This is where we spent most of our time, on the back patio, which belongs just to this villa, and the waterfront patio, which is a shared space for all the villas. The location of Bayview Villa was perfect for us as we could walk to many of the nice restaurants that have waterfront dining. The Publix is very close and there's also a walkable CVS. The space was very clean and was set up well for the four adults that visited.
This property was beautiful and very well decorated and clean!!! The sunsets were amazing and easy access to the Gulf and short beautiful boat ride to get to the Atlantic. Would stay there again in a heartbeat .
The bayside villa was comfortable, well supplied, and pleasantly decorated. The owner is very personable and easy to work with.
This is a quiet spot with safe dockage for your boat and easy access to the bay or ocean side. The patio couldn't be a nicer spot for relaxing, enjoying the georgeous sunsets, and watching the sun go down.
Mitchell’s properties in Islamorada is our happy place! From the moment we arrive, we are relaxed. We snorkel around the sea wall and fish in the bay. From the sea wall, we saw manatee, dolphin, rays, sharks, reef fish, tarpon, and the list keeps going. Very family friendly and the small number of rental properties near make it quieter and friendlier than most places. Clean and immaculately landscaped. The Bayview Villa was very comfortable and well stocked. The location is close to dining, a great bait shop, cute boutiques, and stores like Publix and Dollar Tree for incidentals. Favorite restaurants like Mangrove Mike’s and Overseas Kitchen are walking distance. Go to Olive Morada for Lime Olive Oil and Coconut white balsamic to cook your catch for the day and grill it at the house. Don’t forget to go to Bitton’s across the street for Gelato when it gets hot. We spend the whole week trying to figure out how we can stay forever.
It is a beautiful place, attention from the owner, everything very clean, beautiful landscapes and beautiful sunset, comfortable and spacious, I loved it and I recommend it 100%, you will not regret it.
Super clean and comfortable accommodations. Great location that looks out to the Gulf. Saw lots of marine life to include fish, sharks, an eel and a manatee. The property is in a great location, close to everything.
Beautiful property. Very quiet. Marina super convenient for those with boats.

Exceptional!
This is the perfect getaway in the Florida Keys. We loved the dock for relaxing and it's also well prepared for those who like to fish or have a boat. You can walk across the street to the Bitton Cafe for an excellent espresso and pastry. Groceries are also close by. Also across the street is a small brewery with a cute tasting room and a few nice gift shops. Tackle is also within walking distance. But why would anyone want to leave this adorable house and patio???? The yard is well-kept with interesting plants and animals. Even the squirrels will come up to meet you. We had a manatee swim up to the dock for a drink of fresh water--a great surprise! Mr. Mitchell was a great host. We can't wait for next year. Thank you Bob!

Paradise
My husband and I recently vacationed at the bayside villa. The views are amazing and the villa is updated and clean. You can dock a boat and drop a pole in the water right outside the villa. Or you can just sit and watch the manatee, dolphins and plenty of marine life. We enjoyed are stay so much we are going back next year.

Darby's favorite vacation spot
I can’t say enough about the hospitality and the beautiful property of Mitchell’s Bayview Villa. This will be our 4th stay and our first stay in the Bayview. The weather was so beautiful and you just feel like you are in your own home! Your place is a paradise! Our Goldador Darby just loved staying there and watching all the wildlife. The fenced in patio made it so nice for her!!
Thanks again Bob and Phyllis for a wonderful stay and we look forward to seeing you next year!

Wonderful pet friendly spot
We have been coming here for a few years and love it. The location is right on the bay and very quiet with terrific sunsets. The villa is very spacious and has everything you could need. The best part is the large patio where we spend our days with our dog and enjoy dinner and the sunsets. The décor is beautiful and everything is clean and comfortable. All the people are very friendly and the owners are wonderful. One of favorite vacations!

Way more than just a vacation rental, Everlasting Memories!
Not only are the accommodations outstanding, the view is breathtaking. It is the most tranquil place to go for a relaxing and also activity filled vacation. You are secluded from the busy world and it is the perfect place to de-stress. The regulars are wonder people and are now my friends forever. Sunset Happy Hour is a never miss for me. Very pet friendly. I've been a fan since 2010.

Fantastic accommodations
Thank you Bob and Pyllis for another great time. We so enjoyed our stay again this year. We met some fantastic people and of course the fishing was awesome and let me not forget to mention the fresh key limes for my pies. Looking forward to the same time next year.

About the host
Hosted by Phyllis Mitchell
We are Bob and Phyllis Mitchell and have loved the Keys since we moved to Florida in the late 60's. I was an airline pilot for 25 years and at the same time worked as the Marketing Manager for Florida Sportsman Magazine which I still do consulting work for. Phyllis is a retired teacher and professor who now works as a volunteer to a long list of organizations from the local parks to looking out for abandoned or abused children in the Keys. We both are very community involved and are on many Village committees. We love fishing, especially when our grandchildren are visiting. We did many years of offshore fishing and after that many years of backcountry but are now slowing down on that. Our big love is plants and gardening and we love to keep the Villa property native and beautiful as well as our nearby house on an acre. We will be thrilled to give you a tour of the local plants and what we have done with the Villa property and ours.
Why they chose this property
We have loved the Keys since we moved to Florida in the late 60's. Within a few years we discovered the most delightful Keys hideout in Islamorada that is now the Keys Villa we own and rent. At the time it was a small non-typical motel with just a few units. The Villa is a small house on the property, comfortable for four people, and is free standing on an acre property with a free protected Marina. We keep it constantly up-dated and remodeled, and very comfortable for our guests. The small town laid back atmosphere was very attractive but it took us until 1984 for this villa to come up for sale.
In December 2009 bought the Bayview Villa and have just completed a full inside/outside renovation and it is ready for your visit. There are three other rental accommodations, owned by friends, on the property so it is very quiet. We love it so much that we bought the property two doors north where we now live. We are nearby for your needs but not there unless you need us.
What makes this property unique
The property is so quiet with so few guests that folks naturally socialize. Nightly visits to the bay for the sunset, drinks and snacks become a norm. Maybe half the guests to the property are return people for years. A big hit is the occasional visits by an octopus which darts around changing colors as she passes over the bottom. Years ago one was feeding on the shrimp in my bait bag and when the bag was taken away from her she started putting her tentacles up on the dock looking for more. Soft heart, I fed her a few.
