Nestled within the heart of the Smoky Mountains and surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest lies this 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom Franklin NC vacation rental!
With its well stocked kitchen, cozy interior, and patio with a salt water hot tub and mountain views, this cabin offers something for everyone. Spend your days kayaking at Nantahala Outdoor Center or trout fishing the many rivers and creek in the area! Go for a hike to see the many waterfalls in the area too! Return home to relax in the hot tub before ending the night by the fire pit under the stars!
The Carolina Moon Cabin is a beautiful 2400 sq. ft. log cabin with plenty of room for you to spread out and relax! The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you could need. We have also great supply of spices for anyone wanting to cook at the cabin. Flour, sugar, coffee (and filters) are all here too! And we have a green egg to grill or smoke on as well!
Tucked away amongst the Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel, you will not find a more relaxing atmosphere. Detached garage and a fire pit to cook those yummy smores! The mountain views are to the west of the cabin, meaning you have beautiful sunsets every night! They are truly stunning and something to plan your evening around! Grab one of the rocking chairs on the covered deck and gaze off in the distance..
Master king bedroom with full bath on the main level. The loft area has a queen bed and two twin beds along with a card/game table. The finished basement level has another king bedroom, full bath, as well as two sets of bunk beds and a sectional couch with a 65” tv.
The family room is well appointed with a comfortable couch and loveseat as well as our favorite - the cow chairs!
7 person Hot Springs salt water hot tub to help you relax is just outside the basement doors!

While we are remote, we have decent internet access! Everyone can connect and use their devices.

All TVs connect via the internet - so you can stream whatever you choose or use our YouTube TV account to watch your favorite channels.

We are 25 minutes to downtown Franklin and 40 minutes to Highlands.

Per VRBO guidelines, we are disclosing that we do have a security camera located on the outside of the cabin. The camera is pointed down the driveway as well as over the back deck / fire pit area and does not cover any areas inside of the cabin.

Great get away

We had a wonderful time in NC. Your cabin was a great home base for our adventures. We were all able to sit down to meals together at the large table. I had everything I needed to prepare our food in your kitchen. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after our hikes. The boys lit a fire in the fire pit almost every night. The sunsets were spectacular, and the view magnificent. We had a wonderful spring break with our children and a couple of their friends. We were able to put the girls in the loft and the boys on the bottom floor. Plenty of space for everyone!

Beautiful cabin

We loved the stay at the Carolina Moon Cabin. The best stocked I have ever stayed! All spices, coffee, etc. just about anything you needed! I have a rental in Louisiana and Steve has me beat on that! The beds were fabulous, very clean, perfect stay!! The only worry we had was the last part of the road up to the cabin. I was scared. We are older 65-78 so we’re not prepared and came in after dark. But still a fabulous stay! And Steve was GREAT! Thank you

Wonderful stay at this excellent property that exceeded our expectations. Steve is a wonderful host! Cabin was well decorated, very clean, wonderful beds and plenty of extras. We would highly recommend!

Fall getaway

Going up to the cabin was a amazing time. Breathtaking views from the cabin. The fall weather was amazing there it definitely gave a really cozy feeling at the cabin.

Wonderful Cabin in the mountains

We had an awesome time. It is Close to hiking trails and beautiful waterfalls. The cabin was super clean and very comfortable. The hot tub was very nice to relax in as well sitting by the bonfire. The owner is very quick to respond and very nice! There were a lot amenities and even thoughtful surprises! We cannot wait for our next visit!!

We fell in love with this cabin and the property it sits on the minute we saw it. It has been a dream of ours to own a property like this. It is close enough to town, but far enough away to relax and listen to the beautiful sounds of nature!
