SPECAL WEATHER STATEMENT

I have been getting a lot of questions about Mechanical Air Conditioning. It's not as hot here as where your at. In fact its 15 yo 20 degrees cooler.

I have No mechanical AC other then fans. Its always Mild at 4000 feet Elevation 15-20 degrees cooler then all surrounding lower elevation areas. You can expect 60 degree nights and mid 70's in the day. Even during heat waves. Early September can be even milder. I have natural mountain slope A/C North West facing, Surrounded by deep shade trees that block suns rays so the air never heats up. By 5 pm this cool air flow descends from backside of the mountain. I also have outside hot and cool shower. Lake Beach and cold rivers and streams near by.

About the host

Hosted by Dean Getchell

Host profile image
I designed and built this place in 2008 as a year round vacation house for all seasons. It's small in foot print yet mighty in substance. We carved into the side of an ancient 3,500 ft. mountain with little environmental impact. I'm an advocate for the preservation of worlds special places and hope to share my house as an example of how to build sustainably and one with the Land.
