About this property
Waterfront House on Private Lake - Tranquil Location and Amazing Sunsets
Beautiful waterfront home on Rockwood Pond in Fitzwilliam, NH. Over 160 feet of waterfront. Western facing with mountain views and the most amazing sunsets! Great location, only 15 mins to Mt. Monadnock, and close to MA and VT.
This is our families 50th year on the lake in a nearby home. Used only by family and close friends, we are now opening our home for guests to enjoy.
There are only 10 homes on the lake and our house is 1 mile down a private road. If you are looking for a wild lake scene with boats flying around and noisy nights, this is NOT it! It's rare to see a motorboat on the lake and jet skis are not allowed. There is no public access and only 2 homeowners have boats.
This lake is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing. On a sunny day, the huge 24x12 deck, yard, and beach will see sun from dawn to sunset. 2 kayaks and new stand-up paddle boards!
The 3 bedrooms include 2 with queen beds and 1 with two twin beds. There is also a couch with a pullout double bed and a cozy daybed.
Strong WiFi and desk for remote working, and 2 Smart TVs.
Heat and A/C can be powered by our brand-new mini split system for chilly mornings or warm evenings. You may find that you rarely need to use though as the 2 giant sliders and ceiling fans welcome a wonderful breeze off of the water.
The location is central to many activities. Swim, kayak, paddle board and fish on the lake or from our brand new dock. The position of the property makes for the longest summer days with the sun above you late into the evening. Enjoy incredible sunsets from the beach or deck!
There are also miles of hiking and biking trails are within walking distance of the house. The Monadnock Recreation Rail Trail is on the other side of the lake and a 5-10 minute bike ride from the house. Its a 14 mile flat gravel trail through nature that connects to the broader NH trail system.
Paddle board or Kayak to the middle of the lake for amazing view of Mount Monadnock!
Various attractions are very close by:
- Mount Monadnock: 14 min - The most climbed mountain in the USA! - Little Monadnock: 10 mins - A great, easy hike nearby - Rhododendron State Park: 5 mins - Shopping in Rindge: 15 mins (State Liquor Store, Market Basket, Marshalls, Walmart, Hannafords...) - Keene: 25 mins - Only 25 miles to Vermont - 90 mins from Boston (10 mins over MA border)

From the day we booked this beautiful home in January until when we checked out at 11am this morning the hosts were friendly, responsive and always checking on us when we were in their home. The location is perfect, the views are amazing and it is just what we hoped for. We are already looking forward to returning, hopefully next summer. The home had everyone and more you could need! Thank you again!
We had an amazing time! the lake is just gorgeous we were swimming and paddling boarding every day. We also went hiking and had tons of local ice cream. Highly recommend!
We loved our stay! Rob and Pam were gracious hosts to our family, they were so easy to connect with and answered all our questions before booking and during our stay! They were responsive and attentive hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was very clean, super stocked with essentials and extras and the waterfront was excellent. We cannot wait to be back :)
My family and I had a memorable stay on Rockwood Pond. The location is gorgeous and the pond was perfect for swimming. The cabin is clean and well appointed. Hosts were easy to communicate with. We loved the hammock and easy pond entry.
We had the best time at this lake house. It was a beautiful house, fully stocked with everything you would need. The location was private, peaceful, and quiet, exactly what we wanted. The owners were very kind and responded quickly. We highly recommend this house, and can't wait to go back again!!
What a great spot! Very quiet lake with Loons and great fishing! House is spotless and super comfortable. It has all the extras and anything you might of forgot. The deck overlooking the lake is a spectacular place to hang out. Beach/Dock/swimming is great and our dog loved it too!! Was great to use the paddle boards and kayaks. Host was very responsive and went out of their way to make us feel like home. Will definitely be back, hopefully this season :)
End of the season getaway to get in some lake and fishing time. Rob was very attentive and the house was very welcoming. What we used as the master bedroom the bed was very comfy. The home had everything we needed for our stay. View is very nice, sunset right in the backyard. Was about to give up home on that bass hubby was looking for until literally his last cast of our stay on his last worm and boom there it was :) He left a happy guy. Thanks again for sharing your home.
I had a wonderful stay at this quaint, quiet cabin in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how spotless everything was — the cabin was exceptionally clean and well cared for. It’s clear the hosts take great pride in creating a welcoming space. The communication from the hosts was outstanding — friendly, timely, and helpful from booking through checkout. They made everything seamless and stress-free, which I really appreciated. The cabin itself is tucked away in a peaceful setting that feels like a true escape. Surrounded by nature and far from the noise of the city, it was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Whether enjoying a morning coffee on the porch or falling asleep to the sounds of the woods, the tranquility was unmatched.I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a restful getaway with warm, attentive hosts. A real hidden gem!
Beautiful, unhurried, and welcoming! Loved every moment at Rockwood Pond!!
After a power-packed, nonstop summer schedule, we were looking for a place to stay in the Monadnock region in southern New Hampshire and our expectations were high.
Rob and Pam's well appointed and very welcoming lake house fit the bill!
The deck has an uninterrupted view of both Rockwood Pond and its surrounding hills. The deck alone was respite!
The view of Mount Monadnock from the pond was awesome as we kayaked each morning.
In every room and nook, it's evident that Rob and Pam care a great deal about their guest's experience.
Ours was first rate. Five+++ stars!
We paddle boarded, kayaked, walked the rail trail that traverses the undeveloped side of Rockwood Pond, and grilled on the Blackstone.
Most importantly, Rockwood Pond is a quiet place and we unwound and enjoyed an unhurried pace that was unique to Rob and Pam's.
We've stayed at many places throughout New England and Rob and Pam's tops the list.
It was an ideal long weekend get-away. We enjoyed every minute of it.
Thank you so much Rob and Pam!
