Oceanfront Single Family Home South Mission Beach

Graces Beach House was owned by Grace Withey and managed by Pat and Mike Withey. In december 2012 Grace passed away at 90 years old.James Patrick [Pat] and Mike Withey inherited Graces and are still managing it. In 2009 Grace decided to remodel her home which included gutting it down to the studs and completly remodeling the home with new everything then turned it into a vacation rental.

The home is in South Mission Beach and is a single family home. It is one of only a few Ocean Front single family homes left most are condos and consist of 2 or 3 units which means at Graces there are[ No Shared Spaces]. South Mission is much quieter and low key compared to north mission and I believe is much nicer and better suited to families and retired vacationers. Boardwalk is right in front of the property then a huge white sand beach then the Pacific Ocean. This is a beautiful location and a awesome place to live or visit.

Fantastic Vacation

We absolutely loved our stay at Graces Beach House! The location was perfect on the boardwalk/beach and close to everything. It had everything that we needed and was very clean. We enjoyed our daily walks as well as watching the volleyball games. The sunsets were beautiful! The hosts were amazing! We can hardly wait to come back! Thank you so very much!

Wonderful Relaxing Stay

My sisters and I loved our stay at Gracie's. It is in a fantastic location and has everything we needed. It was clean, well equipped with comfortable beds. The deck right on the boardwalk is a great place for morning coffee or a sunset glass of wine.

Relaxation and volleyball on the beach

We had an incredible 5 nights at Grace's Place. This home is one-of-a-kind: A standalone, 3 bedroom oasis a short hop over the boardwalk to the beach, volleyball, and ocean. The kitchen is nicely outfitted for all of the seafood cooking we did, the outdoor space is wonderful for enjoying the sun at home, and the home is spacious and open enough for everyone to spread out or watch movies and play games together. Thank you for listing this wonderful space!

Family Vacation Getaway

Our family spent our spring break at Grace’s. The house had everything we needed and worked great for our family. It was wonderful to be just steps away from Mission beach. It was fun to walk the boardwalk and watch the waves on the ocean. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location and patio

Had a great long weekend stay with family. The private patio right on the boardwalk and all the included beach chairs and toys were awesome to have access to. A little dated, but perfectly nice place to stay. Easy communication with the hosts about check in and check out. We didn’t have any issues during our stay, but I believe Pat is nearby if needed. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great place, great owners

We had a great time with this location, there's something to be said about being literally on the beach. Mike and Pat were both great to work with and were there to help if needed, but honestly, we didn't need any help, everything was in great shape and worked out well.

Great location

Location was amazing. Patio and sun room with great views of the Sandy beach and volleyball courts. Home was clean with plenty of towels and kitchen was stocked. Bikes and beach supplies were great to have. Nice walk along the beach to restaurants. Will definitely come back.

Amazing stay on the boardwalk!

We had an incredible week at Grace’s Beach House. The layout was perfect for our family - 2 kids, 2 parents, 2 grandparents. The beach is literally across the sidewalk, and the activity at the volleyball courts was a blast to watch all day. A short walk to an amazing coffee shop, and just 10ish minutes to Belmont Park. Would come back any time we can!!!

Wonderful Location!!!!

We had the best time at Grace’s beach house ! Such a clean and comfortable house. The beds were so comfortable . So many nice touches. The indoor and outdoor patios . We so enjoyed sitting there having breakfast and dinner. So relaxing!! It was fun watching people playing volleyball and going by. You couldn’t get closer to the beach. Mike and Pat were a dream to deal with. Can’t wait to come back!!!

Perfect comfortable house on south Mission Beach

We had a wonderful stay at Grace's Beach House! The location is perfect for our family. We love being next to the beach and enjoy the south end of Mission Beach because it less crowded and much quieter, but still a close enough walk to Belmont Park. The house was prefect for our family (2 adults and 3 kids age 10-15). The beds were all very comfortable as is the living room and the covered and outdoor porches. The kitchen had everything we needed. We usually don't eat out so we used it and the outdoor BBQ quite a bit. There is plenty of stuff provided for outdoor play - everything you need for the beach with kids (toys, boogie boards, chairs and towels) and we enjoyed using the bikes on the boardwalk. We would absolutely stay in this home again on our next trip to San Diego.

Right on the boardwalk

The photos do not do this property justice! It's wonderful and roomy with 3 full bedrooms. We enjoyed the routine of getting up early and looking for seashells on the beach directly outside the doors of Grace's VRBO. After shell hunting we ate breakfast on the outside patio and watched San Diego wake up with dog walkers and joggers passing by. It was fun people watching from the patio and we also enjoyed watching beach volleyball. The place comes with 4 cruisers, so we would ride the bikes up and down the boardwalk and around the bay side. It felt safe, we slept well and it was nice to have everything we needed in the kitchen. I could imagine Grace, the original owner, living here and enjoying all the same things we did. Thanks to the family for allowing others to enjoy her legacy,

Our mother Grace Withey was the owner but recently passed away in December 2012 at 90 years old and Pat and I inherited Graces. My wife and I live in Topeka KS. and moved here to watch our son Jeffree Withey play basketball at KU. My parents Dave and Grace Withey bought this property in 1950 and built this home where they raised 3 children. We hope to keep this property in the family for many generations,
