We stayed at this lovely cottage for a long weekend and it was perfect. It was clean, comfortable and had a great view of the lake! Very quiet location and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. We also enjoyed spending an afternoon at Kill Kare State Park, which was right down the road. Our hosts were very easy to communicate with and very helpful. We highly recommend staying at this enjoyable cottage.
We were thrilled to find this cozy cabin on the lake for a girls getaway. The house was perfectly clean and in a great location to go to town as well as to enjoy the solitude of the lake. The 2 bedrooms would work well for a small family or friends. The water in the taps and shower comes from the lake but it was not too much of an inconvenience and good drinking water is provided.
The only thing we truly would have liked to have was wifi but the forced time off of screens was nice as well.
Let me start with saying the pictures are very accurate at this cute and cozy little home. The sunroom made it all. Great views of the lake, which is only a few steps away. We opted to grill a few nights, which was very nice and saw some great sunsets.
The only downfall would be the lack of AC and Wi-Fi/Internet. In cooler conditions, I am confident the AC would not be required. However, the bedrooms sit in the back part of the house and honestly do not get great airflow. They were very sweet and had fans in the house which helped tremendously. It got up to 86° one day, which made it almost impossible to sleep in the bedroom that evening. We typically prefer our room below 75°F when we sleep at night, but this is honestly a personal preference. As for the Internet, WIFI just made it to the area, so I’m sure that will be fixed soon enough. Overall St. Albans is a wonderful little town, the farmer markets were great, and the lake front was amazing and Lori was a great communicator.
This was a great little cottage. Perfect for my husband and I for 4 nights. The location can’t be beat. Close enough to town for restaurants, grocery stores and shopping but far enough away for peace and quiet. The views out the back across the lake are wonderful. The use of the two Kayaks was fun. We grilled out one night and watched the sunset.. I would recommend this place.
We brought our kayaks and bicycles, and this was the perfect place to disconnect, and be with mother nature on the water. The town of Saint Albans is awesome and the surrounding area as well. We rode 20 miles on the Missisquoi rail trail north of town. The neighbors are very friendly, welcoming and keep private. We found plenty of great places to eat and drink in and around town, but we also cooked several meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The views of the water, the islands and all the birds and turtles are mesmerizing. We hope to be back someday!
