Peaceful, cozy cottage right on Lake Champlain—perfect for relaxing getaways. Stunning lake views, a private beach, and easy access to kayaking and swimming. Well-stocked, clean, and close to Burlington and local spots. Ideal for unplugging, enjoying nature, and watching the sunrise. Can’t wait to return!
In a beautiful spot, tranquil end of road. House was great, clean. There were small things that made a big difference for our stay, like enough soft towels, watershoes, tables outside to eat watching the sunset, clean and ready grill. Paul was communicative at all times. We stayed with our kids, and it made our summer vacation.
Beautiful property with a beautiful view! Very clean and well maintained. Living room chairs not the most comfortable but overall recommend this place! Thanks for a wonderful get away!
My family and I had a wonderful stay in St Albans. The property was great, and the location was awesome. The proximity to the lake was superb, and the neighborhood was very quiet. We loved sitting on the porch in the mornings watching the birds and waves go by.
This is a quiet, peaceful spot surrounded by mature trees and beautiful perennial gardens. We loved the three season porch for sitting in the lake breeze and listening to the waves. We cooked most meals there and enjoyed eating at the table outside on the beach. The cottage is very well appointed and I agree with others, all you need to bring is food and clothes! We loved our stay and hope to return soon.
Sitting in front of the fire pit watching the beautiful sunsets were a nightly highlight. This cozy cottage was comfortable and had a fully equipped kitchen that was nice for cooking. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings after hiking and exploring the beautiful scenery of Vermont. One of the bedrooms was quit small and the BBQ took longer than expected to cook but everything considered we had a great trip.
We had a great stay. The house is perfect and well stocked with everything you need! They even have water shoes if you forget. The sunsets from the screened in porch are amazing and we enjoyed having lake side fires. The beds and furniture were very comfy! We would definitely stay again while in Vermont. The location of the house is quiet, and there is a little ice cream shop close for a maple creamee craving
Home was well appointed and very cozy. Location was very quit and relaxing. Really enjoyed listening to the waves lap at the shore. Had a wonderful stay.
The Cottage by the Lake is charming. It's location on Lake Champlain provides a beautiful view of the lake and awesome sunsets. The camp is completely renovated. The kitchen is completely stocked with pots, pans, dishware, utensils and serving dishes. It even has a dishwasher! There isn't a dining table, but the breakfast bar seats 6 comfortably. The screened porch is delightful for morning coffee. The two bedrooms are small, but furnished with comfortable Casper mattresses and TVs. There's plenty of room for four people. Any more than four people will need to sleep on the pullout couch. There is central air and heat, and an electric fireplace. The bathroom is big enough and has plenty of shower pressure. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash is provided, along with TP, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, and dishwashing liquid. The washer and dryer is a nice convenience. There are plenty of towels for bathing and the beach. The tap water is treated and tastes salty, but a bottled water dispenser is available as an alternative. There's a fire pit and kayaks for use. The host was kind enough to provide fixings for s'mores. The host is very responsive to questions and extremely conscientious. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would rent this cottage again sometime.
This cottage was perfect .
Great location, beautiful sunsets, clean, tastefully decorated made for a perfect stay.
Paul,Victoria and Zoe were super friendly, helpful and fun. Looking forward to our return.
Get in touch with nature, sit and watch the world go by.
The lake is directly out your porch doors. Comfort of modern cottage, central air and all conveniences. Very hard to leave after a lovely week at this cottage.
We are so happy to have found this special home located directly on Lake Champlain. Very modern, comfortable, and private. We will definitely be returning.
I really hesitated to give this place the excellent review it deserves because I know then the price will rise from where it is now, which is extremely reasonable! Anyway, we will be coming back! I would say to anyone looking for that hard to find true 5 star stay...you found it!
We very much enjoyed our stay – so peaceful and relaxing! The views of the lake are idyllic, the house is literally right on the water and has everything you could need as a home away from home. A perfect place to unplug, and if you’d like to explore there are some beautiful drives in the area. Paul is an excellent host and very responsive.
Lakefront cottage was an absolute beautiful place to stay. Sitting in the living room and out on the patio you get a beautiful view of the water and sunsets. Quiet and peaceful. We spent some time exploring Burlington - Church Street Marketplace and Spirit of Ethan Allen cruise on Lake Champlain. Did a drive of Champlain Islands and spent some time at Shelburne Museum (must see if you enjoy history). Enjoyed our tour of Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour as well. We plan on coming back soon. Special thank you to Paul as well - a great host!
Beautiful place inside and out! Landlord was helpful and kind. The beds were comfortable and kitchen impeccable. The beach is large and plenty of chairs. The screened in porch was great for relaxing. All the amenities were there and worked well. Super clean and well cared for place all around. If you truly want to relax, this is the place!
My son and I had a wonderful time in VT. The location of this property is amazing and there are no words for the sunsets. The place was perfect for the two of us and it had everything we wanted to prepare our own meals, sit outside and enjoy the weather, and even do a load of laundry or two. I really appreciated the little details that you don't often find in many places. Paul was great and his communication was always prompt. I definitely recommend a stay here!
Perfect stay at cottage on beautiful Lake Champlain
We had such a lovely and cozy time at our stay in St. Albans Town. We enjoyed fires on the fire pit, a lovely morning kayak ride, and really comfortable stays. The hosts thought of everything to make our time more comfortable, from water shoes to plenty of towels and pillows for us to rest and be cared for well.
I'm not 100% how it was flagged, but the original listing was sorted under properties with hot tubs, and this does not have one (that may be updated already). Also, please read the guest book immediately so that you can coordinate receipt of life jackets and paddles as soon as you need them for kayaking. (This happened very promptly, but I didn't realize that we needed to fill out waivers in order to receive these).
If you are looking for a totally peaceful place to stay where you hear nothing but the bird singing and the water lapping, and the occasional boat this is the place for YOU!! It sits on a dead end private road .
I have stayed at a lot of rental properties and usual give people's reviews a 70 % chance of accuracy however all the reviews for Paul's rental is completely 100% accurate.
It is super clean and Paul has made sure you will have everything you need....
Seriously only need to bring clothes and food .
Paul also did not buy cheap stuff just because it is a rental, you could see quality items all through the house .
There was games and books galore for you enjoyment.
Please pay attention to the pictures Paul provided that show the beach we were a family of adults so when we saw the pictures it was no big deal . This beach is all shale which is beautiful and fun to shift through to find beautiful formation.
This is definitely an A+ rental !!!
The house was the perfect fit for my wife and me. We were looking for quiet and relaxing. We picked a great week weather wise. When ever I felt like fishing I took the few steps out to the water. We had plenty of time to read our books when we weren’t just enjoying the sounds of the waves. The screen porch was used often as it had the rocking chairs for reading or just taking in the view. We had storms one of the days and it was the perfect place to watch. The furniture was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, bowls etc. there are some good restaurants not too far away if you don’t feel like cooking. I recommend Jeff’s. Get a reservation though. The sunsets were awesome! The outdoor chairs and fire pit were a hit with us. We were very sad to have to leave. Paul was awesome. Questions and suggestions were answered quickly and right on. Needs were attended to quickly. Highly recommend this for a getaway.
