This was wonderful cabin in Central NY! It was cozy, inviting, clean - everything we needed for a Christmas holiday visiting extended family. Would absolute rent again!
The cabin was very well appointed and in a beautiful setting. More chairs on the first floor and bedside tables downstairs would have been nice, but overall it was very pretty and meet our needs for the weekend.
Really enjoyed the 2 nights stay. Property was accurate to the description, very pleasant and inviting. The pond was the highlight and perfect for a short getaway with friends.
This was our first experience booking on VRBO and we had such an awesome time at this place. The house was beautiful and the pond behind the house was so pretty! We had no issues and would recommend staying here if you are in the area!
This home is beautiful. Comfortable stay for our family of 6. We got 8 inches of snow the night we arrived and the driveway was plowed early the next morning. Communication with the homeowner was easy and home was exactly as described. We would definitely stay again.
The property is as described. We enjoyed our stay and spent evenings on the deck listening to the birds and watching the geese, goslings and huge turtles.
Could not have been more perfect. It was incredibly warm and cozy with gorgeous views while it snowed. Beds were comfy. Everything worked and was clean. Couldn’t have been better
The cabin is very comfortable and clean in a peaceful, serene setting. It is spacious and very pleasant. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and coming back to a relaxing atmosphere after many visits with family members in the area. The location was great for us and very accessible to visiting with family members in New Hartford and Utica areas. We will definitely consider coming to the cabin again for future visits. The hostess was very responsive and accommodating of our needs. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Our stay here was excellent. The cabin is very nice and was plenty roomy for my family. The amenities were excellent and we definitely enjoyed our stay here. The only thing that I would like to see addressed is putting a sidewalk to the the front steps of the cabin. There was not one there and it was quite muddy during the week of our stay. However we made do just fine. Great week away for work!!
Beautiful log cabin. Spent lovely time on the porch with view of the pond. Kitchen is nicely stocked with an assortment of appliances, dishes, and pots and pans, making cooking enjoyable. No dishwasher but sponges and towels provided. We were in town for Hamilton graduation, about 25 min drive.
This is a lovely log cabin, with gorgeous log interior, 3 nice bedrooms particularly the open loft master and a great deck overlooking a pond. Great to listen to the peepers at night and listen and watch the various Canada geese on the pond. Nice looking fire pit too, which we did not get a chance to use. Courtney was very responsive to our quwstions
We enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, water pressure was good and the house had everything we needed. The deck overlooking the pond was nice and the house was cozy. The only thing I would suggest is putting a TV in the upstairs bedroom and there was a lot of mud outside the house, maybe put down more stone to help with the mud. There was some trash laying around from the previous guests outside. We also had trouble with the heaters, took a long time to get the house warmed up. But overall, it was a pleasant stay.
We were 6 friends who stayed at this property over the Memorial Day weekend. It is a beautiful cabin with enormous space and true to the listing details. We loved the front patio and porch. The basement is way bigger than what’s portrayed in the pics and is a lovely setup with leg extension couches. Although we missed to take pictures while we stayed there, if you are like me ans love to take pictures in scenic views, this place is outstanding for a beautiful photo shoot - it’s the scenic, especially the front porch!
We throughly enjoyed our stay here. A few points to note is that if you’re coming during late spring/summer, there’s a lot of flies in the air outside as the property is by the lake. So sitting outside in the evening might be tricky as the insects fly to the light source when it’s dark. Also, there are nearby houses with families as this is not entirely inside the woods so the cabin isn’t as secluded as a getaway wood side cabin might be, which in a way is good cos we could DoorDash dinners late at night and also get essentials within a 5 mins drive.
The host, Courtney, is very responsive and super helpful. She answered all of my questions patiently and was really courteous. My husband and I forgot our jackets in the house when we checked out and had already driven away for an hour. Courtney was kind enough to make arrangements for them to shipped back to us. She is one of the best hosts I have met!
5 stars!! ☺️
Stayed for a weekend at this home and would not recommend it for the following reasons:
-our pre-arrival instructions included the suggestion to bring our own towels if we are staying longer than the weekend.I have stayed in many rentals and never heard of this. Towels are basic!
-There was no blowdryer, which is another basic, and when I messaged the host/owner, they said they didn't know if there was one. We had to buy one as we were in town for a special occasion.
-no soap or shampoo in the showers
-handsoap by the sink is watered down and so diluted it is useless
-no boxes of tissues
-not all windows are covered, and those that are are not room darkening so you will be up at the crack of dawn
-bunkbed is unstable - legs move when you touch them, so no one slept on the top bunk
-The bottom bed had hairs in it
-hot water in the main bathroom can be intermittent
-the main bedroom is at the top of the stairs with no door, and it is open to the kitchen and living area - so there is no privacy, and if someone wants to watch the only TV in the living room, the main bedroom hears everything.
All this for quite a high cost.
This was an unpleasant experience for us, and it was surprising that so many very basic elements of a vacation rental were missing.
This cabin delivers on its promise of an authentic Adirondack experience. The setting is quiet and convenient, with the pond adding to the rustic charm. However, the brush between the house and the water limits the view from the fire pit, which diminishes what could otherwise be a highlight of the property. Seasonal mayflies were also present and somewhat distracting. The interior was clean, though the lower level carried a mild mustiness. Sleeping arrangements were adequate, but the absence of a king-size bed or a defined master suite may leave those accustomed to more spacious accommodations wanting. For guests who plan to cook, the kitchen is serviceable but the cutlery is dull—bringing a knife sharpener or personal knives is recommended.Overall, the cabin suited a short stay and met our needs, though a few thoughtful updates would elevate the experience considerably.
