Gilson Ranch is a private high-altitude estate set on 40 secluded acres on Colorado's South Park plateau — 40 minutes from Breckenridge, and a world away from everything else. This is not a standard mountain rental. It's a working-scale private ranch with genuine space, serious amenities, and a landscape that earns its own billing.
In spring and summer, the property transforms. Wildflower meadows bloom through June and July. Elk and pronghorn move through at dusk. After dark, the Milky Way is visible with the naked eye — this corridor has minimal light pollution and exceptional stargazing year-round. The land itself is the amenity.
Three bedrooms sleep up to 6 guests comfortably across two king suites and a flexible twin room. Every space is designed for real comfort — not cabin-rustic, but genuinely well-appointed with quality linens, thoughtful layout, and the kind of quiet that resets a group.
The chef's kitchen is fully equipped for serious cooking, anchored by an indoor wood-burning oven for evenings when staying in is the obvious choice. The outdoor grill and wraparound deck handle the rest — morning coffee with panoramic mountain views, dinner under open sky, and everything in between.
Two dedicated soaking options — because one isn't enough at this elevation. The outdoor hot tub sits under open sky for stargazing sessions that run as late as you want.
