Beautiful cabin and property. Perfect size for our family of 5. Lots of games and activities for the kids. Fire pit was a great way to end each day. 4x4 is an absolute necessity to get up the driveway, so make sure to bring your truck! We can’t wait to come back next year.
A true mountain get away! Perfect place to unplug. You definitely need 4WD on the last gravel roads in. Would recommend this rental and hope to stay again in the future.
The house was fantastic. 100% as advertised. But even better the host was super responsive and helpful in connecting us with neighbors when our hound got loose. Luckily we were able to locate the neighbors who find him. I'll definitely be back for another stay.
This cabin was even BETTER than the pictures. Usually people stand on the top corner of the roof to take a picture to make it look like there is an amazing view. Not the case here! The pictures dont do it justice. The cabin was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the internet worked flawlessly, the host was very communicative, the porch space was awesome, the cabin was beautiful and spacious, and much much more! Will definitely be coming back!
Perfect getaway, lots of privacy, that feel of being away from it all! The host reached out in advance to ensure we had seen notes about the 4x4 requirement, which was appreciated and definitely correct. Would definitely stay again.
Our stay was beautiful, we went up at a great time of year and the cabin was in a great spot to view the beautiful leaves. Our pups and 1 year old enjoyed the space very much. When we got a moment to ourselves the foosball table and fire pit were great. Roaring river vineyard was a good little spot to visit. Kid and pup friendly as well.
Overall we loved our stay. The drive way is steep and it is a solid 30 minutes from a store or gas station. However it is a beautiful place to be for the weekend. The sun hits the deck and land in the morning and you get a good view. The land is all on a hill so no real flat sections. Lovely fire pit which we loved. The cabin itself is very well kept and clean. Lovely details.
Very nice but remote cabin that would be perfect if you did not intend to leave. Cabin is listed as being in Hays which would have been an easy drive to Merlefest. It is at least 15 miles past the town and on very windy roads leading to gravel and a drive access that required the Jeep I rented to be put in 4wd low. Basicly and hour drive to Wilksboro. Cabin was nicely furnished and the grounds were peaceful.
The cabin was amazing. It is definitely off the beaten path, but if you are looking for a quiet peaceful stay this is the place. The views are spectacular and the weather really showed off the mountains. The cabin itself is clean, well stocked and charming. We played foosball and PacMan in the game room. We had s’mores and sat by the fire pit and grilled burgers one night. We took a day trip into West Jefferson (I lived there when I was younger) It has definitely turned into a tourist town, but we had a great time walking the streets, shopping and of course eating. Go to Kilwin’s for the ice cream! Torria was very responsive and a great host. We want to go back in the fall.
I simply cannot say enough good things about our stay here! Beautiful, peaceful, clean, small touches that showed the extra mile has been gone. Excellent in every way!
