About this property

Pompey Hills w/pool - 15 minutes from Syracuse

Come to relax with friends and family at this 2.5 acre home near Syracuse University. Come and enjoy the apple festival (check dates) and the beautiful autumn leaves. The 1700 Sq ft space includes 3 bedrooms (master suite 18’ x 15’) and two full baths! The master suite has a king size bed (can be split to 2 twin size beds) and a pull out sofa sleeper if needed. The second bedroom includes a queen size bed with vanity, and the third bedroom includes a full size bed and dresser. The livingroom has a queen size sleeper as well. Also is a large eat in full kitchen and living room. Always enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

Pompey Hills is not for hosting events or parties. Only the amount of guests that are booked will be allowed on the property at anytime regardless if they spend the night or are a daytime guest. If more guests come than what is booked, you will be charged $38 per guest per day. “Maximum number of guests allowed at Pompey Hills is 8.” All your space is private to you with a separate entrance and no shared space as we live on the south side of the home. My wife and I live on the north end of the house along with my 85 yr old dad. We keep to ourselves and value your privacy. If you would like to meet us upon arrival our phone number is available on the counter.

Pool will be open June 15 - October 1. Pool is not opened the day of checkout. Pool temperatures will vary. June temperatures range 72°-75°, July temperatures 75°-78°, August temperatures range 76°-83°, September temperatures range 69°-75°, October temperatures 68°-70°.

This is a beautiful spot to relax and catch up with friends and family! We enjoyed the pool and beautiful outdoor space. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway.

A great location, minutes from Syracuse University

The property was gorgeous and the location was 12 minutes from the university. Gorgeous space, dog friendly, great backyard for the dog to run around. Also, only 5 minutes from a local brewery.

Great getaway

We had a great visit. We were visiting family who live in Cazenovia. It is outside of town, but easy to get many places within 15 mins. Ithace is an hour away. The huge yard was great for the dog. It was hot and the pool was chilly but a relief. There was so much space to visit, play games, inside and out. We were able to enjoy dinners at the table. The coffee bar was a welcome perk. Host was always responsive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend for families.

Check in/out process was smooth. House and property was gorgeous with all the amenities you can imagine. My husband jumped in the pool, in late September! and it was clean and inviting. Felt just like home for the 6 of us.

Views for days

We booked this trip quickly due to a family funeral, and Michael was outstanding with prompt and professional responses. The property is truly beautiful with mature landscaping and stunning grounds. The owner lives on property which was a surprise but was not a problem at all. The amenities were plentiful, and appreciated. Our family would absolutely return if we were in the area. FYI King David's Restaurant is fairly close and the food fresh and delicious.

Annual July 4th vacation

We had 4 adults (one couple and 2 singles). Three bedrooms were perfect for us. The master suite is huge, and had its own bathroom. Decor is eclectic, lots of antiques. Location was very quiet, massive back yard perfect for frisbee. Pool was very clean. We didn't have much sun, so the solar heater wasn't able to warm up the pool, but we swam anyway. Owner lives on the property and was able to respond to our needs/requests quickly. Just 10 minutes from town, so easy to get any supplies that we forgot. Rented Kayaks/paddleboards at Cazenovia Lake through Morse Kayak Rentals, very good experience. Ate at the Brewster Inn one night-highly recommend. Its right on the water, food was excellent. Short 5 minute drive to Pratts Falls for a brief 1.5 mile hike to see the waterfalls.

Eclipse, Family Birthday and Bonding Time

To see the 2024 eclipse, celebrate a big birthday and relax and bond with our adult daughters, this was a good place. The owner is communicative and helpful, and we were a good fit as a family looking to have a pretty relaxed time, as opposed to a party. The big couches, kitchen table and deck table on the low deck overlooking the big, rolling lawn helped us relax upon arrival. The kitchen cabinetry is extensive, as is the collection of casserole dishes. We chose Syracuse because we were able to drive there from Massachusetts and our daughters were able to fly there from elsewhere. The airport is an easy 1/2 hr away, with easy car access and smaller planes arriving (about 20-some rows long). A car is essential at this location. We shopped at the regional CNY indoor winter Saturday Farmers’ Market for produce including local apples, maple syrup and more, and also drove a ways to the Coop store for things like hearty farm bakery bread and tahini. (No membership necessary for Coop stire, but it was handy to have one of us be able to stay with the car as there was very limited parking there on the neighborhood (Kensington?)street. At the house, we were able to use the TV to display family photos and used the Roku to watch Apple TV, having had a little difficulty accessing Netflix. A memorable, relaxed stay.

Spacious home and property

This was the perfect place for our family to stay while visiting relatives nearby. It had plenty of room for all six of us to spread out and we were even able to coordinate with Michael for our daughter and son-in-law to stay with us for a night. My only regret is that we didn’t come when the pool was open! Hoping to return and enjoy that sometime during the summer.

Why they chose this property

Beautiful home on 2.5 acres of open space surrounded by evergreen trees. Is beautiful all year. The pool adds enjoyment in the summer mounts June 15 - Oct 1 The snow on the evergreens in winter is amazing. There are three ski resorts within 20-45 minutes and several state parks within 5-20 minutes from Pompey Hills
