About this property
Cozy cabin w/private hot tub & fire pit
Summary:
Escape to River Birch Cabin, a cozy woodland retreat where crisp air, forest views, and a soothing hot tub set the tone for relaxed days and starlit evenings. Enjoy nearby hiking trails and a short drive to Lost River’s shops.
Sleeps 6 | 2 bedrooms | 4 beds | 1 bath
Private hot tub – year‑round soak
Fire pit by stream – evenings outdoors
Wood‑burning stove & central heat
High‑speed WiFi & dedicated workspace
Pet‑friendly cabin in peaceful woods
The Space:
Snow-dusted woods hush the landscape as steam curls from the private hot tub, inviting you to unwind under a canopy of whispering pines. Inside, the glow of a wood‑burning stove spreads warmth across the living room, while the sound of the nearby stream adds a gentle rhythm to your evening. You can breathe in crisp air, hear birds stir at dawn, and feel the quiet pulse of the Lost River Valley settle around you.
Sleeping arrangements
The cabin sleeps up to six guests. One bedroom holds a queen bed, and the second bedroom features a twin bunk bed. A pull‑out couch in the living area provides additional sleeping space without crowding the room. A full bathroom with a bathtub and bathroom essentials serves the home.
Living space
Comfortable seating surrounds a wood‑burning stove that adds both heat and atmosphere on cooler nights. Large windows frame forest views, letting natural light fill the room even on overcast days. Central heat keeps the cabin cozy year‑round, and high‑speed WiFi supports streaming, video calls, or remote work. A dedicated workspace in the common area offers a quiet spot for productivity.
Kitchen & dining
The fully equipped kitchen lets you prepare hearty meals after a day of hiking or simply brew coffee for a quiet morning. An open layout keeps the kitchen connected to the living space, making it easy to gather around the table and share stories while the weather turns cold outside.
Outdoor living
Step onto the covered front porch or into the private backyard to soak in the hot tub, a favorite feature in any season. A fire pit sits beside the stream, perfect for evening fires and s’mores under the stars. Free parking, a private entrance, and self‑check‑in via lockbox make arrivals simple.
Neighborhood
River Birch Cabin is a short drive from downtown Lost River, where small shops and local flavor await. Hiking trails wind through the surrounding landscape, offering quiet paths in winter and vibrant colors in other seasons. The wooded setting provides a peaceful backdrop for relaxation and exploration.
Perfect for
This pet‑friendly cabin welcomes families, small groups, and remote workers seeking a tranquil retreat. Dogs are welcome to join the adventure, while cats are not allowed due to allergies. Whether you’re chasing winter hikes, needing a cozy base for remote work, or simply longing to reconnect with nature, River Birch offers a comfortable, private haven.

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and River Birch Cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
