About this property

Quiet Cabin Retreat near Blue Ridge Mountains

Welcome to The Mountain Peek!

The Mountain Peek is a quiet cabin surrounded by beautiful and mature rhododendrons and trees with seasonal mountain views, perfect for you and your family (furry family too!) The cabin is ten minutes from the wonderful restaurants and shopping in downtown Blowing Rock, Moses Cone Memorial Park for the best hikes, and the Blue Ridge Parkway for scenic drives and many trailheads. This cabin is also close to Grandfather Mountain, Boone, and Banner Elk. It's the perfect mountain location with great proximity to the best spots Western NC offers.

This three-level cabin provides a great room with vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace surrounded by comfy furnishings, and a secluded hot tub deck. The kitchen and dining room are on the main level, directly off the living room, with seating for eight. The lower level has a king bedroom with a jack-and-jill style bathroom shared with the bunk room. You will find a twin-over-full bunk bed and a twin futon in the bunk room. Each bedroom has access to the lower level deck, which offers a covered sitting area with a fully-fenced backyard directly below where kids and pups alike can enjoy the mountain air. The upstairs loft is a spacious area with a queen bed, a twin bed, and a desk.

Additional amenities at The Mountain Peek include wifi, Smart TVs for streaming from your favorite programs, and a washer and dryer. The home has propane heat and an air conditioning mini split for summer comfort. The driveway is paved, however, the incline requires winter drivers to prepare with AWD or 4WD vehicles in the unpredictable mountain weather. The home has two cameras, one showing the driveway pointing toward the trash bins and one showing the driveway at the entrance. This cabin is super pet-friendly with a fully-fenced back and side yard for them to play unattended if necessary! Up to two dogs are welcome with your reservation, and additional pet fees apply.

Getaway to the quiet of the mountains at The Mountain Peek!

Freezing inside at time of arrival. Bad service up on the mountain had a hard time communicating
Everything was great, cabin was freezing when we got there. Had to call service to come out. We were so cold for hours. Would recommend putting some instructions of the thermostat under the controls. Can tell which way is on or off, and it takes a while for heat, propane to signal after turning on.

Nice Cabin -- with Bonuses -- Fenced Yard & Hot Tub!
Hot Tub was Devine....Fenced Yard made it nice for my dog. Very quiet & private. Close to everything I needed. Kitchen fully stocked w/ pans, pots, coffee makers. Thoughtful details to seating on main floor & abundance of towels too! May want to have whomever is responsible for cleaning be sure that the ashes from the fireplace is removed before the next guest arrives, as the previous guest must have had a fire in the fireplace, but since it wasn't cleaned out, it had a continuous odor of ash during my stay on the main floor, along with remnants of wood chips, etc were left by the fireplace as well.

Overall Pleasant Experience
A beautiful cabin! Took our toy dogs which included a 22 pound Cavalier only to find porch railings and all inside staircases and railings were spaced such that our dogs could fall through. We improvised a barricade which was not ideal but worked. Future renters should be aware of this. Outside lights were mostly not working which made coming in after dark treacherous.

Mountain Peek Cabin
It was good overall. A little older than we anticipated. The lot was very enclosed and dark.

Mountain weekend Blowing Rock
We had a lovely visit to this quiet home in a beautiful neighborhood. The home had everything we needed except a hair dryer which was no big deal. We very much enjoyed playing games and relaxing. Our two dogs loved the outdoor space in the fenced in yard. Overall a wonderful weekend getaway for our famiy.
