Easy communication and check in. Plenty of wood to keep a fire going when it got chilly. Fenced in yard was great for our doggo. Perfect place for our staycation Thanksgiving. Some of the dishes needed a rewash before use, but since that's a chore for check out, that could be on past guests. Plenty of towels and blankets provided. We even got to enjoy the hot springs up the road on our way home after check out. Would stay here again!
Thank you for a great experience! Our dogs loved the yard, and we are very jealous of your wood stove. My only suggestion would be to get a new coffee maker. Other than that, perfect weekend. Thank you!
If you want a very peaceful place that is conveniently located near the center of the small commercial district of McKenzie Bridge, this is a wonderful place to stay. Two good restaurants are in McKenzie Bridge, and Takoda's is only about 5 minutes west. It is located in the woods (just a short way off the main road in McKenzie Bridge where quite a few people live). Quiet, peaceful, a good place to rest after an active day.
My cousin and I rented this house for a weekend wedding. We were both very happy with the facilities, the A/C (it was hot outside!), the kitchen utensils and other amenities, the streaming TV,and the beds. We had everything we needed. It is a charming little house in the forest.
Overall, the house had everything we needed and was in a beautiful location. We were close to Belknap for a mid-day soak and there were restaurants and a general store nearby. The house was clean but there were ants and mouse droppings on the counter in the kitchen and plates/bowls when we arrived. We cleaned everything before using it. The house is in the country so we weren’t surprised by the critters and it was a good reminder to not leave any food out.

Peace and quiet
We were a party of 2 octagenarians with differing expectations. I loved the in-the-woods, simple vibe and it met my expectations. My more OCD friend appreciated the peace and quiet, but was shocked to find a dirty coffeemaker and oven and changed meal plans to eating out.
Cozy and spacious for a family of three. The yard and grapevines were a highlight for our 3 year old. Deep in the woods feel, but close and with easy access to the rare store and restaurants in the area.
We had such a great stay! The space was comfortable for being up early or staying up late and catching up with friends.... which also allowed us to watch the wildlife out the window. Birds in the morning, and foxes at night! The grapevines were a huge draw for all.
The hosts were easy to communicate with and they gave some extra tips for finding the place and getting in which were helpful. We followed the recommendations for things to do which were also spot on!
