The cabin is in a beautiful spot, clean and cozy, with a wonderful deck We felt like we were staying in a deluxe tree house! The host is very thoughtful and responded promptly to our communications. We loved that we could bring our dog. Thank you!
This is a beautiful, clean, traquil and relaxing home away from home. The beds are comfortable, the living space is open and full of light during the day. The hosts have made great efforts to make this a family and/or couple friendly destination. Our dog was welcomed and enjoyed her stay (being with her people). The views are spectacular.
My family had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this property. My kids loved seeing the deer every morning. We spent a lot of our time in the sunroom and on the deck (so scenic and relaxing) and the coffee bar was much appreciated. There is a store, River Country Store, less than 10 mins from the location where you can pick up food and other things if needed. The owners provided a very helpful guide listing the closest things of interest. You really feel like a pampered guest here. The property is also very clean. One of the nicest rentals we've seen!

this place was beautiful and had all the comforts of home. the host was very helpful with instructions and available to answer any questions we had
Wonderful retreat. Second time visiting and is top of the list when I am in the area. Cozy but plenty of space, all you need to relax and recharge while being close to great outdoor experiences.
We stayed at The Cabin at Alta Vista for a few nights this April and it was exactly as advertised. The cabin was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. One of the highlights was the sunroom—the views are spectacular, and we were lucky enough to see a family of about 10 deer right outside on our first day!The hosts clearly put a lot of thought into the amenities; the coffee and tea selection was actually much better than what you’d find at a high-end hotel. One tip for future guests: the drive up the mountain is stunningly beautiful, but it can be a bit challenging. I’d definitely recommend timing your arrival for daylight hours to make the climb easier. We would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our weekend getaway at this cabin! It was all that we hoped for. Our dogs had a great time and loved walking in the snow. The owner, Brigid, was very helpful and responsive.
The cabin was very nice and quaint. We had a nice stay. The view from the sunroom is great amazing. The place is very cozy and made for a great night away.
We had an absolutely wonderful week at your lovely cabin! My only problem is that we didn’t want to leave. It was So delightful… it seemed you thought of every little luxurious detail that made our week so relaxing. We spent most of our time on your dramatic sunporch. The view was amazing, and the stars at night from the deck were so bright, and we loved seeing the deer and a little fawn at dawn and dusk! Our little dog felt right at home and the doggie bowls and blanket/towel you left for him were much appreciated. And, of course, the bathroom was the icing on the cake… what luxury! All of the windows were just picturesque. We spent two evenings at the Mountain Lodge where we enjoyed burgers while we watched the kids from our picnic table enjoy jumping off the dock, swimming and water boarding. Great fun and only 5 minutes away. If someone is looking for a comfy retreat from the city, you couldn’t beat this. Thank you for making our stay feel so welcoming!

About the host

My husband Travis and I opened this cabin in March of 2023. In 2005, we got engaged at the top of Maryland Heights, right over in Harper's Ferry. Sixteen years later, we returned and found this beautiful cabin in the woods.
Why they chose this property
After a drive up the beautiful mountain road, we found The Cabin at Alta Vista nestled in a small cute little mountain community. The neighborhood is quiet, very little traffic or noise.
From the moment we laid eyes on it, we dreamed of all the memories that would be created here. So we worked hard for over a year to create this space. It is great for family getaways, romantic nights away, or a just a chance to spend some time in solitude.
What makes this property unique
The space is quiet and simply decorated while having all the necessary amenties, as well as some bonuses, like luxury robes and heated floors. The property has an incredible amount of rocks landscaping the property, great for climbing or just a fun place to sit and take in the views. We also have frequent visits from wild life! Guests enjoy watching from the big windows in our sunroom.
