Deer Run Lodge - hike, swim, relax, explore!

Lovely cabin surrounded by Michaux State Forest with beautiful views from the spacious great room. Situated atop a mountain ridge with the Appalachian Trail less than a mile away.

Location reference: 0.5 miles from Pine Ridge Campground.

Close to Gettysburg (15 miles), Shippensburg (9 miles), Pine Grove Furnace State Park (9 miles), Caledonia State Park (8 miles).

Screened in porch, fire pit, pool, finished walkout basement with ping pong table, and comfortable bedrooms. Come see why our family loves this place so much!

The first floor has a large great room with a propane fireplace, two-story windows, a large dining table with seating for 8 (plus folding chairs in the closet), a well-stocked kitchen, and a kitchen island with three barstools. There is also a laundry room, a full bathroom with tub, and two bedrooms - one with a queen bed and one with two full (double) beds.

The second floor has a small loft area with a desk overlooking the great room and front yard, a large comfortable chair, and a futon with available sheets and pillows. The loft opens into a large bedroom with a king bed, comfortable chair, small desk, and a full bathroom. There is a twin rollaway bed in the closet and an additional twin mattress available for extra sleepers in the bedroom or loft.

There is a 4th bedroom in the basement with a queen bed and an individual heater, as well as a full bathroom.

The walkout basement has a ping pong table and lots of seating, including a queen sofa bed with sheets, blankets, and pillows available.

The basement has large smart TV and a DVD player. We do not provide cable or streaming services, but you'll be able to watch shows via your own streaming services on the smart TV.

Outside there is a large flat yard, a fire pit under the trees and a 15’x23’above-ground pool and attached deck. The house has a wrap-around deck on three sides, partially screened in. The front deck is great for star-gazing!

So cute and comfy!

It was the perfect spot for us to visit Gettysburg! The enclosed patio was great for relaxing and the basement was an oasis for the kids! The gaga pit and fire pit were also an added bonus for the kids! We'd definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here with family for the holidays. Second time here in a perfect central location for visiting with extended family. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we could need, great room with Christmas tree and decorations was beautiful! Large dining room table perfect for meals and many game nights. Appreciated having towels and bedding provided. Communication was great, we love this house and would stay here again.

Family vacation 2024

This is a beautiful home in a park like setting. It had everything we needed and wasn't in the hustle and bustle of Gettysburg. Very quiet. It was very comfortable and very clean. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to return in the fall! I am sure the trees are beautiful here in the mountains

Amazing property

Like all the other reviews, the pictures do not do it justice. The scenery is amazing, and we had deer in the front yard every day of our stay. The house itself was very comfortable. We had no "if only there were" thoughts. Thos place has it all. My husband has already asked me to book it again for next year.

Great Family Vacation

Stayed for 6 nights. Stayed with 2 other couples and our children. Pictures did not do it justice. Much better in person than in photos. Only.downside was pool was cold, about 72 degrees. Much too chilly to hang out in. Everything else was terrific!

It was amazing! Our host, Kim, was so helpful (and patient), answering every question and directing us to surrounding points of interest. The home was beautiful, clean and airy; the pool was a definite highlight for the whole family - although above ground, it was definitely not "small" and accommodated kids and adults with our floats! Deck gave us plenty of room for sunbathing as well. The home felt secluded, even though there was a house next to us (seemed unoccupied) and one down the lane. A family of deer visited every morning and evening and we loved hearing the whippoorwill serenade us at night. Exceptional stay in every way - just wish we could have stayed longer!

Best outfitted kitchen we've ever found at a rental!!

We stayed here for one week to be near family for Christmas. The house was clean and well supplied with linens, bathroom items, and every kitchen item we could have wanted. Host was accessible and responsive. We traveled from 10h away so the option to not pack bedding, towels, crock pot, rolling pin, and even a meat thermometer(!) was ideal. Easily able to prepare a holiday meal for the family. Giant Supermarket was <9 miles away, perfect! Great views; hiked some AT miles; deck was great despite the cold. Kids got some outdoor time enjoying this lovely property.
