About the host
Hosted by Francine Wizner
Bruce & Francine are native Hudson Valleyonians. They have lived, worked, and played in the communities of Red Hook, Kingston, Saugerties, and Poughkeepsie. Having visited regional parks, swam in local lakes and pools, skied nearby slopes, and sampled the many area restaurants, they are uniquely positioned to offer visitors the best insights on all that the area has to offer.
Bruce's talents include grounds management. His hands-on approach keeps the surrounding greenery on our 20 acres flourishing and the mechanicals in our buildings functioning efficiently. You can often find him working on the property or in his office contemplating his next project.
Francine is an idea generator. She writes science-themed books, blogs, and videos. Sometimes the plants and animals that live on the property are characters in Francine's creations. Another of her creations is the property itself. Watch as she transforms it into an even more beautiful retreat!
Why they chose this property
Traver Road is a thoroughfare which connects route 44 in the north to route 55 (by way of Freedom Road - county route 47) in the south. The village of Pleasant Valley is a five minute drive north; the first traffic circle in the business center of Lagrange is a five minute drive to the south.
In five minutes drive in either direction you can find groceries, banking, medical care, and a post office. But, when standing in the middle of the property, you can't see the road and someone standing in the road can't see you.
