About this property

DT Tiny Shaver Home @the trailhead to Lake!

Summary:
The cutest tiny home in Shaver! Located at the base of a trailhead that leads to the lake, and two minute walk to shopping and restaurants!

The Space:
Tiny Shaver | A Tiny Home in the Heart of Shaver Lake Village

Whether you're looking for a special getaway in the woods, or a quiet place to unwind, this luxurious tiny mountain lodge awaits.  It has all the rustic luxury and charm of a ski lodge resort, packed into a unique 400-square-foot space! A trailhead on the property leads to Camp Edison and the Lake! Located right behind Ken's Market and Shaver Lake Hotel, park in the garage and walk to all your favorite restaurants and shops in Shaver.  Unplug and spend quality time on the front deck, playing cards around the table, or snuggling up to watch TV or cuddling in front of the fireplace, easily workable with an on/off switch.  Large windows let the mountain light stream in and provide picturesque views of the surroundings. Washer and dryer, Wifi, and free parking are provided.

There is another vacation rental (a dome home) next to the tiny home, providing a unique yet private setting for travelers looking to stay close to friends or family. If you're interested in booking the other rental let us know!

The Space

The tiny home is located above a garage. You'll enter through the garage, where you'll see the washer and dryer, a card table and BBQ for hanging out downstairs on summer days, parking, and storage. Toward the back of the garage, stairs will lead you up to the living space. As soon as you enter the door, you'll fall in love!  A mix of natural textures, neutral colors, and rustic pieces come together for the perfect tiny mountain lodge. On your right, the queen bed pulls down from the cabinet and features a memory foam mattress and high-end linens. The door to the bathroom was crafted out of a tree slab by a local artist!  Every feature was carefully designed to keep the integrity of a true Shaver Lake cabin.  The fully equipped kitchen has every appliance needed to cook a warm meal while you're in town. If you forgot any ingredients, Ken's Market is just a few steps out the front door!  The sliding glass doors open to the balcony. We love to sit and people-watch during the busy season. Sometimes, there are events right in the parking lot in front of the cabin!  In the slow season, snuggle up and watch the snow fall, or wait by the window for wildlife to mosey nearby.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire property, deck, garage, and trails.

The Neighborhood:
Located behind a market, Tiny Shaver is an unforgettable experience! Plenty of space around with large snowy areas during the winter. Walking distance to stores and 6 minutes to the lake, perfect to enjoy everything Shaver Lake has to offer. Just a 30-minute drive to the Dinkey Creek swimming pools, windsurfing at Huntington Lake, and China Peak Ski Resort.

Getting Around:
You are more than welcome to walk, jog, or bike around the neighborhood! 4 wheel drive and tire chains are strongly encouraged during winter months, and may be required by California Highway Patrol if there's snow in the forecast.

Other Things to Note:
Due to the heightened fire danger, there are no open fires allowed outside. The grill provided is propane.
Since the Creek Fire, there has been an influx of wildlife in the area. Make sure you do not leave food outside or in your car, and clean the BBQ after use. Be aware of your surroundings during walks.
Pitch and sap will accumulate on your shoes after walking around outside, please remove your shoes indoors.

Cutest Cabin-Guest Equity is the BEST!

My hubby and I finally got a much needed get away. Such a cute tiny cabin, quiet, safe, just perfect. It is close to everything, very clean and Guest Equity is very responsive. Highly recommend Tiny Shaver and this company!

A cabin that's actually in town!

Super convenient location, this would be the perfect place to stay if you're attending any event in Shaver. It's right in the action. You can also hike to the lake or the museum, but it's a long hike (Town Trail).

Great place for short stay

Nice little house! Cool updated bathroom and near everything at Shaver Lake! There is no air conditioning but there's always a nice breeze with fans and windows open. Summer days can get a bit warm inside, but is quite comfy at night. Great size for just two people.

Great Stay

FYI Light above kitchen sink is blinking on and off, needs to be replaced?? Front door does not close completely or lock, needs to be adjusted. Barn Door of the bathroom is beautiful, however I would suggest that a stop be added to the track or floor to prevent it from falling off the track rails when opened fully. These are not complaints, as we loved the place. Thanks, Mark Braaten

Interior nice and well decorated. Didn't realize it was just behind a market. The driveway had not been cleared and the host really didn't know why and couldn't do anything for the three. The place is right for the right purpose/price.

Terrible management

The property itself was up to date and what you would expect from a tiny house. The low rating is related to the management company as well as the location of the property being in the back parking lot of a market. We arrived at 11PM to find that there was no running water at the property. There were 3 contact numbers to call which we did with no answer, voice mails were left. We also messaged through the VRBO app with no reply. After confirming the water main was on, we decided to stay the night as there were no other options. The next morning we went through the same process in attempts to contact someone from the property management company (Guest Equity) with no success. On our investigation, we learned there was a problem with the well on the property from a local and that it would take a minimum of 2 days to repair. Luckily, we were able to rent another place close by for the remainder of our vacation. We continued attempts to contact the management company of the property throughout the day by all methods available including the VRBO app with no response. On day 3, I was able to contact the Guest Equity management company but only because I selected the option on their phone system of wanting to list a property with them. After the situation was explained, they began the process a refund for the vacation. Based on my experience, I would not rent any property where Guest Equity is the management company.
