Summary:
Welcome to Vista Oasis. Enjoy exploring the local national park and town, then relax in your peaceful, stylish, and cozy home away from home.
Experience breathtaking sunsets and starry skies while relaxing in a private hot tub or pool while spending time with friends and family in the spacious patio area.
☆ 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park West Entrance ☆
Casa con Vista is more than just a house; it's my passion project. For over a year, I poured my heart into renovating and designing this space with the hope that every visitor experiences an incredible and tranquil desert getaway. Here, you can truly unwind, disconnect, and savor everything that Joshua Tree has to offer.
Start your day with a coffee on the patio, have dinner al fresco at the picnic table, and cap off your evenings with stargazing in the hot tub after a rewarding day of hiking in the park. I’ve recently even added a new wood fence on the sides of the property so you have extra privacy from the neighbors.
Inside, you'll find my playful take on Southern California design, with hints of surf and skate culture sprinkled throughout the home. Feel free to browse the coffee table books, groove to a vinyl record or two, and kick back on the pull-out couch (I highly recommend pulling it out for maximum comfort).
The kitchen is fully equipped, boasting an updated filtered water system (seriously, the water here tastes amazing), a propane oven, new butcher block counters, and a spacious dining nook that can double as a dedicated workspace for remote workers.
In the bedrooms, you'll discover new memory foam mattresses and handy luggage racks for your convenience.
Moreover, the living room features a Roku streaming TV, a record player, and a selection of games tucked away in the hall closet, including my personal favorite, Bocce. Cornhole (Bags) is also available , located in the Primary Bedroom Closet.
THE EXPERIENCE:
► Spectacular views and private half acre
► Central AC/Heating
► Hot tub
► Cowboy pool (Seasonal April - October)
► Outdoor fire-pit
► Roku streaming TV
► Fully equipped kitchen
► Outdoor dining and seating area
► Room-darkening shades
► Fresh bath towels, makeup towel, hair dryer, and hot tub towels
► High-speed internet connection

HOUSE RULES:
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT: Check-in is 4pm and check-out is 11am. If you'd like to extend your stay please let me know in advance so I can check if it's possible. I can sometimes accommodate but it depends on other bookings and coordinating with my cleaning team!
GOOD NEIGHBOR RULES: Sound can travel far distances in the open desert. Please be aware of my fellow desert dwellers and keep voices to non-disruptive volume when enjoying the outdoor amenities. Also, no outdoor speakers at any time. Quiet Hours are between 10pm-7am, during which, please take activities indoors and/or ensure that sound does not travel outside the property. Any violation of Joshua Tree’s good neighbor rules that result in a fine issued to the homeowner during guest stay, caused by guest breaking city, state, county rules will be billed back to the guest at twice the rate. Additionally, there will be an immediate eviction and cancellation without refund. A good rule to follow - If the neighbors can hear overly loud noise and/or music, you are in violation of the Town Ordinance.
SEPTIC SYSTEM: This home runs on a septic system, so only liquids should go down the sink, no solid food. For the bathroom please only flush toilet paper.
Additionally, the outdoor house string lights must be turned off by 10pm in accordance to the town guidelines. All other outdoor and indoor lights are ok and approved for the town guidelines.
SECURITY CAMERAS: The home is equipped with outdoor cameras for your safety and security.
POOL & SPA RULES: The host cannot assure the safety of persons using property containing a pool and spa. As a consequence, guests assume liability for pool and spa use by themselves, other occupants, and their guests.
NO SMOKING: No smoking, burning candles or incense. Smoking of any kind (including e-cig) is NOT allowed inside our house or near any open doors or windows. Any and all smoking should be kept outdoors at least 15 feet away from any exterior doors. Not honoring these guidelines and smoking in the house will result in an additional $200 cleaning fee. In addition to these smoking rules, please be mindful that you are in the desert so be very careful and properly and safely dispose and clean up any cigarette butts and ashes.
CHILDREN & INFANTS are welcome. The property can be great for families, however, the property is *NOT* childproof. Adults are wholly responsible for the safety of their children, and for the care of the property and items within it.
PETS: Pets are not allowed at the property. If you do bring your pets you can be charged a fee.
EXTRA GUESTS: Guest count must be the same as on the reservation. Any day guests must be approved prior to arrival. Day guests must leave by 8pm. Children are considered as part of the total guest count.
HVAC: The house has HVAC with a smart thermostat that has seasonally adjusted temperature thresholds.
This is the MOJAVE DESERT and you may see animals and other critters you've never seen before! Part of the desert's magic is the wildlife that lives here. You may see/encounter wild rabbits, coyotes, mice, beetles, snakes, scorpions and spiders - just to name a few. This is their natural habitat. We have a large lot and cannot control which of our desert friends decides to call it home. Please be careful and respect the wildlife.
Additionally, there may be occasional power outages in the high desert beyond our control. In the unlikely event that there is a power outage, the latest information can be found from the local electricity company Southern California Edison.
The scope of our Standard Cleaning Fee is normal guest wear and tear. If additional emergency cleaning/maintenance staff is needed to restore the property on schedule, guests agree to pay these additional costs in full + 20%. We hope this doesn’t happen, as this puts considerable strain on our hard-working crew.
By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises as well.
Please note that we reserve the right to update, amend or change the above texts at any time before your reservation.

About the host
Your host
As a socal local, I've been coming to Joshua Tree with my family since I was young. I love the desert and when the opportunity came about to purchase a home I jumped at it. I spend the whole of 2022 living here full time and working on the property all on my own. I have put so much love into this house, truly made it something I would be proud of, and am so elated to get to share it with all of you.
I moved out here at a time when I really needed the quietness of the desert, it was a healing year to spend the time on my own sitting in this tranquil backyard, watching sunsets, and enjoying my hot tub listening to the coyotes howl. I hope each and every one of you finds your peaceful moment when you have the chance to stay here.
