You will not have access to the interior ground level areas.
Note that your host will also be on property. They will stay on the ground floor and while you may sometimes see them, they will not be a bother to you unless you desire to interact with them. Maintenance issues or questions that come up while your host is present can be immediately addressed.

The space was just as described on the listing. Communication between us and our host was excellent. We have stayed in many different places and this space was far better equipped than any other place. Anything you need in that kitchen, they had it. Need extra blankets, sheets, towels or pillows, they had it. They even had a half a gallon of milk, orange juice, bread and a dozen eggs along with water and snacks in the space when we arrived. We would recommend the space to anyone staying in the area.
Wonderful stay! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked—perfect after a long day of travel. The deck by the water was absolutely delightful and the ideal spot to relax. Highly recommend.
Perfect size space, quiet neighborhood, relaxing flow and amenities of the property. We used it as home base for a weekend event. Great downtime location between event milestones. Hospitable and accommodating hosts. Recommending to friends and family, and would come back to further explore Chesapeake

This is a lovely quiet property on the water. It was the best supplied property I’ve ever stayed in with food in the cupboard and fridge and bath room toiletries, even an extra toothbrush. (Good thing because I forgot mine.) There’s plenty of room to spread out and even a pool table. Highly recommended for your next trip to this wonderful little corner of the world.
I would recommend to anyone looking for a getaway! The hosts were just lovely! They were very informative and helpful all around!Check in was super easy! Fully stocked pantry and amenities! Kitchen was quaint and perfect for all cooking needs! I would go again! It was a wonderful time! Close to lots of great beaches! Great learning opportunities bc of all its museums and historical sites! 10/10! Spend some time relaxing in VA at Kimary Cove!
Kim and Mary were wonderful hostesses! The home was thoughtfully prepared for having younger children stay. I personally feel they went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Beds were comfortable and kids loved the pool table!
We absolutely loved our stay at this super cute basement suite! The space was much more spacious than we expected, with a comfy layout that made it easy to relax. What really made it special was the decor – full of antique knick-knacks and thoughtful touches that gave it so much character and charm. There’s no cell service, which was honestly a huge plus for us. It was the perfect excuse to truly unplug and unwind without distractions. They also stocked the place with plenty of snacks, which held us over nicely between meals – such a thoughtful gesture! And if you do need anything, Main Street is just a quick drive away. We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, cozy retreat with lots of personality!

Carey, I appreciate the kind words. I am not sure how to respond to your comment about cell service. I use Consumer Cellular and have service thru-out the house and Mathews county.
Please stay again should you be back in the area. I appreciate your stay.

Quiet and secluded home, enjoyable relaxing either creekside on small deck or on larger deck at the house.. Sat by the creek early evening with no bugs..Well insulated to the point we could barely know the owners were upstairs… owners were very nice and helpful if needed…Like others noted a selection of snacks, spices, condiments were available, along with drinking water bottles…The appliances worked just fine, everything was clean… we need to cook meals while traveling, plenty of pots n pans, silverware and plates/bowls/cups, but did need to get some disposable baking pans when we got our groceries, but the nearby store had everything we needed…Loved the stock of sandwich/gallon type bags and other foils/wraps!Would stay again if in the area…
There was such a welcoming atmosphere in this home. Very comfortable and more than expected amenities provided in the way of water and breakfast items. The backyard of this home is absolutely gorgeous and the sitting area on the creek is relaxing. You could fish if you wanted. The hosts are welcoming but unobtrusive, careful of your privacy. Honestly I thought they and this home provided the epitome of southern hospitality.

Seemed like someone hadn’t stayed there in a while. There was dust on dishes and a couple dead bugs on comforter. The water smelled like sulfur. But the yard and space was really nice and we felt welcome and safe. Bathroom shower was a little small. Overall it was a great experience! We had a blast!
My spouse and I needed a getaway that was away from the city type areas. The property is just far enough away without being completely detached from the world. We were a bit weary of sharing the house with the owners but we only ran into them a few times and they were very nice people. It's clear they love landscaping and gardening. The property was beautiful and sitting on the deck by the water was so peaceful. My spouse and I are pool players so the table in the unit was great to just hit a few balls around.
Only cons we could even state is that it is a basement so there is a slight musky smell that you quickly forget about once inside for a while, the owners did try to tackle that to the best of their ability. The water is well water so expect a bit of that sulfur and hardness to the water. The stairs coming in are a bit steep so anyone that has issues with those may want to reconsider.
Outside of those small little things, everything was perfect. The apartment type space had everything we needed for a few days escaping normal life. All the decorations were vintage looking and fun to explore and look at. I highly recommend taking a drive while you stay and checking all the little country backroads. It was nice to see so much green still around when the world is building everything up. We greatly appreciate the owners allowing us to stay in their little paradise.
