Great location and excellent host

I rented this place for six weeks when I needed to stay in San Francisco for work at UCSF. This was an excellent location within walking distance of my office. The apartment is as described. The host was very gracious and gave clear instructions about the property and expectations for guests. There are also great restaurants in the neighborhood. Highly recommended!

Lovely home in terrific neighborhood

This is an elegant historic home in a friendly walkable neighborhood with several great restaurants nearby, I absolutely loved staying here. Nice part os SF, quiet and safe. It is quite hilly and there's a couple flights of stairs from street to the apartment, so I got some fitness benefits out of that. Having original artwork in the house is a particularly classy touch.

Sunlit and bohemian

The flat is light-filled, thanks to plenty of windows, a central skylight, and its being on the top floor of the building. It has a pleasantly funky character, as shown by quirky but comfortable furnishings. The place absolutely clean, but the age of the building shows. The kitchen is a real treat for anyone who likes to cook while socializing with friends. The garage (and the rear path to it) is somewhat scrappy, but the very large, flashy, new washer and dryer are a terrific convenience. Potrero Hill is relatively isolated from the more famous and touristed parts of San Francisco, but it has charm and personality, with more than a few good restaurants and places to hang out. It is also one of the most consistently sunny spots in the city; if you don't have sun, no one has sun. If you want exercise, you can get a real workout walking the steep streets. The views of Twin Peaks, the downtown skyline, and the East Bay are magnificent. Public transportation serves the area well. A note on parking: it is more plentiful here than in most other parts of the city, but you MUST carefully read and follow the parking signs, because patrol is out in force. Parking tickets are $79 apiece, and they don't seem to run out. Better yet, use the garage!

Amazing views

Loved the views out the front and side windows. I am a windows person, so this place was great. I’m from LA so it took some getting used to the chilly December weather, but you do. Place was comfy, bed was comfy, and it felt special to be there during the holidays. Little markets, bars, and restaurants within walking distance was a plus. Close to the freeway too and that helped as I was working down by SFO. Hosts very accommodating and sweet. Bathroom is small- but fine for just me. Being able to park in the garage was a huge plus.

Very convenient.

Very convenient to UCSF. Close enough to walk to (1/2 mile), garage, easy to get to the airport, and good food within a couple blocks. Owners were prompt and very friendly. I'm really lucky to have found it and have it be available.

Potrero Hill Bohemian

This flat is every bit as sunny and spacious as the pictures show. Because of COVID, I wasn't able to use the kitchen to entertain, as I did a couple of times last year. The furnishings are eclectic and the overall look and feel of the place is enjoyably quirky, with a dose of Bohemian funk. One should take note that there are inside and outside stairs to climb, twenty-some in all, and the building is about halfway up the block on a steep street. I like having the built-in exercise, and exploring Potrero Hill on foot will give you plenty of that! The washer and dryer are new, full-size Samsungs. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed in this house for two months – and we loved it! If you love cooking this house is amazing – it has all the cooking equipment you need to cook like a true bistro chef. The kitchen is beautiful and full of light from the many windows and the den with the entrance to a wonderful old garden. The garden has a big avocado tree and old roses. The view from the house on the top of Potrero Hill is unbeatable. The neighborhood is great too - it feels very safe and the house is just one street up from 18th with lots of great restaurants, a wine shop and a good grocery with great local produce and a decent deli selection. The house is a fairly short walk from a huge Wholefoods. The hosts Gwen and Michael are wonderful people, very helpful and generous. We highly recommend this house and are looking forward to returning next time we visit San Francisco.

Terrific SF Get-Away

This vacation rental goes well beyond expectations; everything in the listing plus more. It is fantastic! And the landlords Gwen & Michael are superb. I would recommend this lovely place to anyone. The views, furnishings and amenities alone will make you feel special. I slept better here than at home. Add to that the comfortable and friendly Potrero Hill location – with great restaurants & parking – and you have yourself a fabulous San Francisco get-away. We relaxed, walked and ate; then ate some more! We even did some entertaining and everyone had a great – absolutely special - time. Gwen & Michael, you are the best! Thank you!!!

Amazing San Francisco Getaway!

WOW! This place was fantastic. I went with a couple of my friends for my birthday and it was extremely easy to find a great restaurant that we all agreed on and places to shop. Parking was also very easy and the neighborhood is really easy to navigate both by foot and by car. Everything in the flat was very clean and it was beautifully furnished. The location is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a San Francisco getaway. The landlord was extremely friendly and made everything very easy. The listing description was most definitely accurate and the photos as well. I was very satisfied with my stay!

Very pleased!

I recently stayed at this unit on a week-long business trip to San Francisco. The unit is ultra clean, well maintained and very nicely furnished. I found the neighborhood to be very pleasant with amazing restaurants – I favor The Plow – and it’s around the corner. I would certainly recommend this unit to anyone that is visiting San Francisco.

Great potrero vacation rental

We stayed here for a month in August 2011 whe our family was between homes. We are SF locals who have always wondered about living in Potrero Hill. This place was great. Super quick freeway access and just steps from all the great food on 18th street. And the weather is the best SF has to offer, hands down. Very cute kitchen and comfortable living room. Our 2 young girls loved sleeping on the foldout bed. And with 2 car parking included it was so convenient and stress free. Would highly recommend it.

we arrived to San Francisco driving from Yellowstone and were met By Gwen who immediately made us feel at home , the location is within walking distance to piers and (also 2.5 miles walk to Chabad (go thru Valencia)) the place is very convenient : the garage we traveled mainly by muni buses– look at web site , washer/dryer and location (easy access to highway 280, walking distance to corner shops, restaurants and coffee house) made it very enjoyable stay. Highly recommended

Fantastic location, great views, artistic decor

We rented both the bottom and top unit for a family reunion and loved the open floor plan, eclectic art decor, modern kitchen with vaulted ceilings and views of the bridge. The convenience of the garage, washer/dryer and location (easy access to highway 280, walking distance to corner shops, restaurants and coffee house) made it hard to leave. We would rent it again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful time in our San Francisco home-away-from-home

We stayed in this lovely top-floor flat on Potrero Hill in San Francisco from early February until end of May. It was everything the listing promised, and more. The "more" was the wonderful hospitality and generosity of the landlords. They were quickly responsive to every question that came up. The apartment was well appointed with great furnishings and amenities. And the views of downtown San Francisco were spectacular, not too far away but enough to give us breathing, (and parking) room outside of the hustle and bustle, but close enough if we wanted to enjoy the events of one of the most vibrant cities in the world. All in all, we can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here and hope to return again. THANK YOU GWEN AND MICHAEL!
