Just 20 minutes from Colorado Springs and 1 mile from the Pikes Peak entrance, the Creekside Cottage is your private mountain retreat, whether you're here for the city or escaping it.
You are 20 feet from Fountain Creek. It runs year-round, even in winter, and swells when the snow falls. Fall asleep to rushing water and wake to snow-dusted pines and sunrise over Waldo Canyon. Deer and wildlife are regulars on the property.
The cottage is warm and comfortable from the moment you arrive. Flip a switch and the stone gas fireplace is roaring. Two queen bedrooms and one full bath sleep up to four, making this an ideal setup for couples traveling together or a small family. Fully equipped kitchen with a drip coffee maker, pots and pans, and a dining area for the group.
Strong WiFi, smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Max, and an Alexa music system. There is a landline for emergencies since cell service is limited, but WiFi calling works well.
Winter in the Pikes Peak region does not shut down, it shifts. Garden of the Gods is free, open year-round, and stunning in the snow. The Manitou Incline, Manitou Springs, and the Pikes Peak toll road are all close. Colorado Springs is 20 minutes down the hill and sits 1,000 feet lower in elevation, a full city with Division I hockey (CC Tigers at Ed Robson Arena), concerts, the Nutcracker, great restaurants, and everything else. Snowshoeing and XC skiing are available in Pike National Forest nearby. Breckenridge is 82 miles if a powder day calls.
Fast, reliable WiFi and total quiet also make this a strong remote work base.
Guest Access: Full access to the 2-acre property including creekside access and mountain views of Waldo Canyon and the Pikes Peak foothills. Dead-end road, no through traffic, neighbors are 300-600 yards away.
The road is unpaved and can be bumpy, but any standard sedan, SUV, truck or van handles it fine year-round. Low-clearance vehicles and sports cars are not a good fit for this property. In winter, front wheel drive, AWD or 4WD is recommended when there is new snow. The road is plowed after 3 inches of snowfall; between storms the snow typically melts within 2-4 days.
There is a second property on the same 2 acres, occasionally occupied by other guests. If it happens to be available during your stay, we manage both and offer a discount when renting together for larger parties: VRBO 3386579

Lastly, the home is on septic, so please flush toilet paper only. Also worth noting, the water is connected to city water and is clean, tested, and great tasting. No need to pack bottled water.

This was a great place to stay during our trip to Colorado. Check-in was super easy and the house was warm and inviting. It is nestled in a quant little area with a creek that you can hear while outside. We were lucky to find this place since we wanted to bring our dog with us. He enjoyed the long walks around the area and seeing all of the local wildlife (mostly the deer that come super close to the house). The host was very helpful.
Excellent property, very cozy. The location was excellent and very close to everything including Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak. It was off a nice quiet stretch of road for morning walks with the dogs. We couldn't have been happier.
We enjoyed our stay at the little cottage and it wasn’t to far from places and the communication from the property manager was great. They also sent us extra info on some things we asked about that really helped us.
The host was great, very flexible with us and worked with our schedule and requests. Also left us a couple beers and a bottle of wine which was really unexpected and kind! Host had great book with local amenities and we did a great hike that was 2 miles from the house! Fireplace in the house was amazing and easy to use and the kitchen had everything you could ask for and coffee!! We would go back!

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. The perfect in between location for our trips into Manitou Springs and Woodland Park. Could not have treated us any better.

I’m a solo traveler and a full time real estate investor. Growing up on a small Minnesota farm north of St. Paul in Scandia, MN I learned early on, the lessons of the farm: patience, hard work and empathy. No kids, no wife, but I do have 2 black labs who keep me company. I love to fish and hunt and hike and mtn bike and snowboard and xcountry ski and be outside every second winter or summer. My goal is to drive across South America next winter on my avd motorcycle. Each September, I'm in Colorado bow hunting (elk). Then back to MN for bird season and back to CO in December for snowboarding season. Once the snow melts in the spring and summer, I'm on the water fishing back in MN. I'm easy going and flexible. After college I hitchhiked through Europe visiting 14 countries, sleeping in strangers homes and learning about myself. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting 29 countries so far and I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. The thing I love the most? Having a positive impact on your family and friend's vacations. Have fun, safe travels, and welcome to my home!
