We enjoyed our stay very much. The space was comfortable and clean. The kitchen was pretty well stocked in both pans and staples. We were disappointed, however, with how full the freezer was with food, almost to the point where we couldn’t store what we brought, and the refrigerator was fairly filled as well We also would’ve liked if the campfire chairs had been better maintained, but the grill worked well. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and felt it was a very good value.
The home was a wonderful place to rest after a cold day of hiking. It was immaculate and cozy! The kitchen had everything you could need and more. We had a small issue with the check in but Anna responded immediately and even drove over to make sure that everything was okay. We would definitely stay here again!
Vrbo was perfect for our hike in Shenandoah! Vrbo had everything we needed and was in a great location.
The host forgot to send us the check in code to enter the property , but responded pretty once we got there.
Wish we had planned a longer stay. Secluded home with all amenities including grill and fire pit. Three bedrooms and well stocked kitchen. Great place to chill.
This was a great property and extremely convenient to hiking Old Rag. Very clean and it has a ton of cooking equipment for longer stays. We would love to come back and stay longer!
7 of us stayed here for a weekend and we couldn't have been happier with the house and the host! Lots of room for all of us, and even room for a few more. House was clean and comfortable, and Anna was more than accommodating!
We had an excellent Stay at Anna’s House! House was very close to Old Rag Mountain so it was really convenient to relax at the house after the long hike at Old Rag Mountain.
Houses was clean, organized and welcoming. We highly recommend Anna’s house for anyone staying near Okd Rag Mountain or Shenandoah Parn.
Thanks,
Ash
Girlfriends and I wanted to stay in the heart of wine country. This home was very well situated between the wineries we wanted to visit. The home itself was very comfortable with cute and comfy furnishings. Would stay here again! Loved sitting on the deck, sipping coffee.
The home was beautifully decorated and well equipped. Plenty of room to move about and very quiet. The host was very helpful and responsive to our inquiries.
This was a terrific place to stay. Spacious, quiet, clean, well stocked, and easy check-in and check-out. We used it for one night between drives into Shenandoah for hikes and it was perfect.
The house is very spacious and very clean! Great spot for a girls weekend - fully stocked kitchen for cooking and lots of room to spread out. The fire pit out back and large deck are great for relaxing on a nice day. Only about 20 minutes from Sperryville and easy to get to. Highly recommend!
Perfect place to spend the night before hiking Old Rag. The place is huge and has everything we needed. We were a group of four girls and each had their own bed (including the sofa bed) and slept comfortably. Anna is a wonderful host and very responsive to our inquiries. We would definitely come back on our next hiking excursion in the Shenandoah Valley.
Everything you need to stay for a night or a few days is there. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked.
Place was very clean, one of the cleanest I have been in. And I regularly stay at hotels. I have allergies and was not bothered AT ALL through my stay. No stray hairs or anything like that.
There were a couple bugs, but I think we let them in and we were surrounded by trees so it is expected.
Internet was more than enough to stay available to work and watching shows. And there was a landline if you needed it.
Host communicates well and was kind throughout the stay.

Disappointing in quality and cleanliness
The location of the home is great for hiking and historic sightseeing. It does not have mountain views as advertised and appears to be in the middle of several renovations with many upgrades of a DIY quality. The home desperately needs a thorough dusting—cobwebs hang from ceilings, walls, window sills, etc. The refrigerator was so full of half eaten food (egg shells, cheese, jellies, etc) and condiments there was hardly room for our groceries. The bathrooms had half used bars of soap and shampoo bottles. Perhaps the owner is trying to provide amenities by placing these items, but it feels more like walking into someone’s home with their used supplies sitting around then entering a vacation home. Clearly areas of the kitchen and bath had not been cleaned because they were cluttered with items. While I respect the request to remove shoes when on the carpet (and we obliged), the wooden steps between bedroom and living rooms were extremely slippery and resulted in my elderly father and preschool-aged child falling down the stairs. A skid-proof strip or warning to bring slippers with treads would eliminate this serious fall situation. I also had to reach out to the owner to obtain check in information.
Also, the neighbors tick-infested dogs were onsite throughout our stay. They seemed friendly and didn’t bother us, so I only offer this info to the owner to be aware of the dog droppings in the yard and that the dogs tried on occasion to enter the home. Overall, the home was a di
Clean and well-stocked for a quick overnight trip to the area with two infants. Our only issue was the wait for hot water (lots of bottles to wash), and that the heater wasn’t large enough to fill the very deep tub to even halfway with hot water, which was more a disappointment than a necessity. The internet was fast and the location very quiet.

Satisfying
Property was clean, kitchen is well stocked. There was an issue with no internet, so we were not able to watch any TV or use our cell phones. There were also neighborhood dogs that were barking through a portion of the night. Overall property is close to hiking and in good order.
