We very much enjoyed our stay at the McKinley house. Sonja’s house was very clean and well stocked with towels and other essentials. Perfect location for enjoying our Lake Placid vacation and walking around the town. Sonja has many items available for use including games and toys for the kids when the weather didn’t cooperate for enjoying the outdoor activities. The patio and Adirondack chairs are wonderful. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at the McKinley House. The location was perfect, walking distance to everything. The house was very clean and better equipped than any other house we have rented. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed 3 nights in August as family of 4 adults. Lovely house inside and outside. Communication with host always prompt and clear. There are certain standards that guests are expected to meet while staying at the house to preserve the lovely quality which we found very helpful and informative. Location is exactly as in the description - super convenient to town and the Mirror Lake loop. Would absolutely recommend this as a great rental.

Close to restaurants and mirror lake. Easy walk to town. So nice to have beach toys to use for our granddaughter . Made use of the lovely deck and pergola. Enjoyed the little extras like popcorn , water and trinket dish to put my rings in.The only drawback for us in our 70s not the others in their 30s were the stairs leading to the bedrooms . They were narrow.

This was an amazing place to stay in Lake Placid! Close and easy walk to the main strip on a nice quiet a street, with a yard that makes you feel like you are far away from any hustle and bustle. It was incredibly clean, and fully loaded with everything you would need, including towels, cooking utensils, lawn chairs, kids toys, pack and play etc. Sonja was an amazing host. Not only was she quick to respond, but she took the time to set up a crib for us prior to our arrival, and left the sweetest welcome gifts with waters for each room, and fresh cut flowers from her garden. I stayed here with my husband, in laws, baby, and toddler and we all highly recommend both this Vrbo and booking with Sonja!

We enjoyed the back patio and the beautiful views of the mountains and the fall foliage! The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and well stocked! Great trip to Lake Placid

We’ve been to the town a few times and know the area well and this house was fantastic. The location to the skating oval was amazing and an easy walk to town. Really enjoyed our time, house is as listed and is great. We hope to return when we go back in the future.

Felt like home away from home

I highly recommend this home, which is so warm and welcoming, close to town and has a beautiful view from the deck! Sonja was very friendly and responsive. The house was so clean and had everything we needed for our stay! We loved it and hope to be back again!

Family Adventure

First visit to Lake Placid. The McKinley House was the perfect home base! Great location to town, beach, Olympic center, hiking, fishing, restaurants……the list goes on! Lovely comfortable house with a large yard and a relaxing deck with beautiful flowering pots. The attention to all the little details was so nice.

Snow plow was pulling out as we pulled up. Perfect timing! The house was warm and welcoming, lots of information, beautiful decorations. Every thing you could need was provided, coffee and creamers, hot chocolate, snacks. All pots, pans, utensils, ski rack, high chair. It was like walking into your favorite aunts house. We all loved it and will be back it is perfectly located to Olympic rink and downtown.

Stayed with a friend to do some cross country skiing and hiking. The home was clean and comfortable. Location was very conveniently located to the town center. The host was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond. We asked about the grill (Which was put away for the winter) and the host not only came over to make it available for us, but then took another trip to replace the propane tank when it was missing a gasket.

Great stay in Lake Placid

We enjoying staying at this property very much. With just a short walk, you can get to Main Street, the Olympic Center, many bars and restaurants, and the Mirror Lake public beach area. We spent many moments sitting under the beautiful gazebo on the deck and on the screened-in porch. The house had everything we needed and we found the soft blankets very enjoyable and appreciated the beach chairs and beach towels. Sonja was extremely helpful and responsive!!

Great house, Great location and a great host

Rented this house in Lake placid to watch the ECAC HOCKEY finals . Brought my family of four and my Mom and Dad,. House isin a perfect location within walking distance of down town Lake Placid and very close to Herb Brooks Arena. It it was well maintained, comfortable for a family of 6 and an has excellent and attentive owner. Super happy with our choice and would definitely stay here again

Cozy village house

Well maintained in the center of everything. Very nice amenities and small touches that really made the difference. LOVED the outdoor spaces. If not for some rainy weather one of the days, would have probably spent all out time outdoors.

Charming Home in a Great Location!

We were in town for a family wedding and were lucky enough to find this charming rental (and at a fraction of the cost of the hotels that had been recommended). The home had every amenity you could possibly want. It was clean and stylish with comfortable beds. We absolutely loved the outdoor fire pit and pergola/pavilion on the deck. Sonja was a very attentive host and kept the lines of communication open. We highly recommend this lovely property!
