Clean and quiet location off the beaten path for your MDI vacation. Lots of space inside with all the amenities that we needed for our stay. The host was accommodating and very prompt with communication. Would stay here again.

Our Southwest Harbor experience was excellent. The apartment is well cared for. It was clean and updated. The furniture is new and the mattresses are comfortable. The shower and bathroom is clean and updated. Everything about the space is welcoming. Can't say enough about how nice it was. The location was wonderful and close to Acadia National Park. The view of the harbor is spectacular and having Vacationland Coffee Roasters across the road was a bonus. Delicious coffee, egg sandwiches and the blueberry muffins are incredible. The location is central to great restaurants and the small shops in town are nice. Excellent stay and experience. The owner is really nice.

We were a family of 5 adults and 1 toddler who spent a full week in this beautiful apartment. The unit was a great size with all the amenities of home. There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance in the little town just down the street. Acadia National Park was only a few minutes away by car. The deck has a fantastic view of the marina and a nice firepit for the chilly evenings. The host, Luke, was amazing. He was very responsive both prior to our trip and during our stay. We are looking forward to coming back again someday.

The property was very clean and spacious. It has great views of the marina and harbor. The firepit on the deck was a nice touch since it got chilly at night. Walking distance to downtown made it even that more enjoyable.

Very nice - as advertised!

The location was excellent - great combo of having a view as well as a very short walk to the little town. We visited Bar Harbor and were extremely happy we decided to stay in the leas congested SW Harbor.

Nice view of the sunrise plenty of space

This is a spacious floor with the basic needs in the kitchen and bath. Nice outdoor space and several restaurants in walking distance.

Enjoy the view at Osprey’s Nest

We had a relaxing stay in Southwest Harbor and Luke and Jackie were very responsive hosts. The apartment was spacious, updated and located on the quieter side of the island and had a glorious view of the harbor.

Loved it. Super comfy. Walking distance to town, beautiful view. I would highly recommend. Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia, but had the peaceful beauty out of the bar harbor crowds, which was perfect. Had a dog, and it was perfect for him. Loved the porch.

SW harbor

Overall nice stay with great view of the harbor. Comfortable beds. Kitchen is well equipped. Can hear muffled voices from the downstairs unit. Would be ideal to have a large group and rent both spaces.

Please see our hundreds of glowing reviews for both our apartments on various platforms. Most say the apartment is sparkling clean and even better than the photos and many come back every year. In 11 seasons between both our apartments and hundreds of 5 star reviews on our various advertising platforms, this is our first 3 star review. This traveler is a first time VRBO user and admitted only a day after she booked that she had spent too much on her 2 day trip and requested extra discounts. She already paid 1/2 price of the folks that arrived before, and after her due to a promotion error that we honored. We were by far the least expensive 3br unit on Mount Desert Island due to this error... let alone with an ocean view. Even a single hotel room would have cost more, she got a wonderful deal! We gave her a list of 23 trailheads and about a dozen additional Acadia activities all within 5 minutes of the property. Instead, she chose to drive the 25 minutes to Bar Harbor to enter the Park despite being told Acadia is in all 4 towns on the island and our list of trailheads, swimming spots, picnic areas, biking trails, and the Lighthouse that were all 5 minutes away. No complaints were made during her stay, she (or her daughter) smiled and waved as we pulled into our driveway after work to go to our house next door. She texted us and requested a 3 hour late check out which we were able to reschedule with our housekeeper and grant her. After giving us this poor review we asked what happened and she admitted she spent too much on her trip and was upset about that. She also complained that we should not be listed as 5 minutes from Acadia, despite the fact that we absolutely are....she just chose to drive 25 minutes to other parts of the Park. She promised she would remove this review and was given the number and link to VRBO to do such. After more than a week since this promise was made, she still has not removed the review or reached back out to us if she was having issues.

Beautiful views of SW Harbor

We loved our week in SW Harbor and the rental was perfect for our family of 4. The unit is on the top floor, had incredible views of the harbor, we spent most nights on the patio. The gas fire pit was very nice on the cooler nights. The hosts were so nice and very responsive, shared several great hikes that were perfect for our kids ages 7 and 9. We loved steaming lobster a couple nights in the outdoor lobster cooker, Luke was very kind to show us how to use it. Overall it was a fantastic rental in a beautiful and very walkable little town filled with shops and restaurants. Loved our stay!

Great Getaway

This property was perfect for our needs. It was only a short drive to Acadia NP and other local favorites, walkable into the local square/island explorer bus stop, was clean and had a beautiful upper deck! Luke & Jackie were excellent hosts! We had a terrible storm blow through overnight one night and we lost power for a few hours. They had a generator hooked up and our power back on before we even had a chance to reach out. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful, Quiet Home-base for Acadia

Our stay was fantastic! It was extremely clean and perfectly accommodated 3 people with our own rooms. The deck view of the harbor was serene and a perfect place to read after a long day of hiking at the park. It was an easy 15-20 minute drive, give or take, to all the trailheads of hikes we did in Acadia National Park. Between the kitchen and grill, we comfortably cooked at home most of the nights during our stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice alternative to the hustle of Bar Harbor, but still wants to be close to the park. Luke was also very responsive. We will definitely be coming back in the future!

We had a wonderful stay! The listing was accurate, and the location in Southwest Harbor was incredibly convenient, about 25 minutes from Bar Harbor and with easy access to Acadia National Park. We were super close to a few scenic, family-friendly coastal hiking trails.The 2nd floor apt worked well for our group of four adults and two young teens and was a great home base for exploring Acadia and the surrounding area. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!
