This beautiful lakeside lodge offers a peaceful and comfortable retreat just a short stroll from Lough Corrib. Set in a quiet and scenic location, it is the perfect place to relax, enjoy nearby lake walks, and experience the natural beauty of the area.

Perfect for short breaks or week-long stays, it’s ideal for couples, families, or groups, and conveniently located 28 km north of Galway City, offering easy access to Connemara, South Mayo, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Wild Atlantic Way.


● GENERAL: The lodge offers a welcoming retreat, fully equipped to be your home away from home. Simply bring your groceries and unwind in the serene surroundings. Recently renovated and refurnished, the lodge provides a modern and cozy space, perfect for couples, families, and groups seeking a peaceful getaway after exploring Galway, Connemara, and the West of Ireland.

● KITCHEN/DINING: The kitchen and living space features a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, dining table, and television. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge, ensuring a comfortable and connected stay.

● BEDROOMS: The lodge has three inviting bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers two single beds, while the third has a double bed. All beds are dressed with fresh linens for each stay.

● BATHROOMS: In addition to the en-suite, there is a second bathroom with a walk-in shower located at the top of the hall. Fresh towels are provided for all guests, and the lodge is heated by a gas system with a 250-liter storage tank, designed for efficiency and sustainability.

● UTILITY: The lodge includes a 10 kg washing machine and a condenser dryer for your convenience.

● OUTSIDE: Enjoy the expansive 1.5-acre garden with outdoor furniture, perfect for relaxing or enjoying a disposable barbecue. The garden can be accessed directly from the living room. Free, safe parking is also available on-site.

Whimsical Christmas on Lough Corrib

We arrived to a whimsically decorated lodge in a serene setting close to the lake. Neil was a terrific host, readily accessible, and attentive to our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas stay and hope to return in the future!Thank you, Neil, for the added Christmas decor to make our Christmas away from home spectacular!

Pastoral charm

A somewhat isolated location surrounded by pastures and located within day trip range of a number a great locations. The host went above and beyond to offer assistance with any questions and to provide information about the area. All the basics provided in the kitchen to do simple meal preparations.

Cozy and clean!

We were welcomed with a little sweet surprise! After traveling for over 15 hours, it was so nice to come to the Fisherman’s Lodge and find a yummy loaf of bread, Irish butter and Rasberry Jam!! It touched our hearts. The bedrooms were just like the pictures and very clean. Anytime I texted the host, they were quick to reply and very helpful. My family felt at home and LOVED every minute!!

Host was Helpful

Being near the lake, this lodging had a lot of humidity inside. It was a blessing to have nice hot water, good water pressure, and control of the room thermostat. It was also an added benefit to have a modem to enjoy streaming tv. We met Neil and he had some helpful suggestions for driving in the area

Die Unterkunft ist geräumig, sehr umfassend ausgestattet und sauber. Ein hervorragender Ort zum Entspannen. Wenn Probleme auftraten, war Neil schnell erreichbar und hat sich freundlich und umgehend um eine Lösung gekümmert. Alles in allem ein sehr angenehmer Ort. Vielen Dank!

Super für Familienurlaub

Die Wohnung liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend nahe einem See. Die Anreise per Auto ist unproblematisch, der Check-In und Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war sehr nett und hat wunderbar funktioniert. Die Wohnung selbst ist gut ausgestattet. Besonders schön ist eine große Terrasse am gut gepflegten Garten auf der die Möglichkeit zu Grillen besteht. Darüber hinaus war Spielzeug und ein Kinderbett vorhanden. Auch diverse Gesellschaftsspiele und Bücher waren vorhanden, u.a. anderem ein Reiseführer den wir gerne zur Inspiration genutzt haben. Die Lage ist gut um den Westen von Irland in Tagestouren zu erkunden.
