Glad you enjoyed your stay at 56 West Street BBH. See you soon, Karen
My husband and I enjoyed our week renting the second floor of The Captain’s House. The rental is spotless, the furniture is comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked. There’s a wealth of books and brochures on things to do in the area. Hanging out on the second floor porch was heavenly. We had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.
My family spent one week in Boothbay Harbor for our first time to Maine. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of this small coastal town. Nothing disappointed us. Karen was great to work with! The location of this property is so close to everything in Boothbay. The only negative to this property is that there is no A/C, but fans are provided.
My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week in Maine. This was our first time staying in Boothbay and our first time staying in town in something other than a cabin. This lovely apartment did not disappoint. We enjoyed the amazing view of Mill Cove from every window and loved having our coffee & tea out on the porch each morning. We even enjoyed breakfast and lunch out there too! What a view. The place was immaculate and our host Karen was very attentive to our needs. We walked to town each day and enjoyed many day trips from this location. This is a wonderful place to stay!

Glad you enjoyed our home and thank you for leaving it so clean. Stay well, Karen
So easy to feel at home in this comfortable cottage. Cheerful blue, white, and yellow colors. We spent a lot of time on the deck watching the tides ebb and flow. So relaxing. Owner, Karen, was in touch making sure all was good. We loved the fruit basket and fresh flowers upon arrival. Pretty gardens add to the view. Easy walk to town. Best lobster roll (taste and value)10 min walk at Dunton's Doghouse. When you see law enforcement eating there, you know it's where the locals go. We loved this home.
We stayed at the Mill Cove House for 3 weeks, and enjoyed every minute. You could not beat the location especially If you enjoy a short walk to town for dining & shopping. Karen is beyond the best host of any place we have ever rented. I highly recommend this property.
This was a great Boothbay Harbor location. Nice walk to the heart of the harbor. Plenty of activities on land and sea. It offers a water view, plenty of room for 2 of us. Karen is a gracious, helpful hostess. I would definitely recommend and return to this location.
We were very impressed with the location, close enough to walk to the harbor, but far enough away that there was no noise or crowds. Karen was a gracious and kind host - with wonderful recommendations for where to eat, fun local events, and quick responses to any questions and concerns. The home was roomy and very comfortable with a full size kitchen and a large private covered deck with a gorgeous view of the harbor. We can not wait to come back!
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Captain’s House for a month this summer. The condo is charming, spotlessly clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of Mill Pond. We watched the tides roll in and out along with the shore birds and ever changing Maine weather. I was able to walk the short distance to downtown Boothbay every day and we took several boating trips to view the surrounding islands and lighthouses. The gardens here are beautiful and the area is fragrant with flowers! The best part of our stay were the hosts. Karen and Julie live on the premises and made us feel welcome with fresh flowers and incredible home baked goodies every week. This rental was outstanding and we won’t hesitate to come back!
Enjoyed the beautiful breezes on the second floor of this darling condo overlooking Boothbay Harbor inlet. Condo was very clean and stocked with the necessary items we needed for preparing a few meals. Within walking distance to the village and restaurants.
Karen is very accommodating.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Karen was a fantastic host and provided great suggestions for things to do and places to eat during our stay. The property is spacious for a couple and within walking distance of town. Would definitely return.
This was the best VRBO experience we have ever had. The property was perfectly located. It was close enough to walk to town but far enough away that we weren't in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The deck/porch was a big plus we really enjoyed. But the best thing about this property was Karen, the owner. She lives on site and is a wealth of information and recommendations. She made sure we had everything we needed and by the end of week, we felt like we'd made a new friend. This was a wonderful property and we really enjoyed our stay!
The condo just sparkled. I cannot give enough credit to Karen for providing such a wonderfully warm, inviting, and safe (very clean) environment......especially with the covid-19 concerns. I hesitated, due to covid, but was quickly assured all is well here. The condo is adorable, the views outstanding, location is perfect. I was so comfortable and enjoyed my stay more than I can say. Thank you to Karen and Julie! I cannot wait for my next vacation with them. Do not hesitate to give this sweet place a try.
Everything we needed and more to make the week relaxing. The property is located near many areas we wanted to visit with minimal effort to get there.
Loved having the private porch overlooking the cove. Furnishings were as advertised and the history of the house fascinating. Thanks Karen for your help when we needed it.
Great two bedroom property within easy walking distance of the town center. The owner provided a lovely basket of wine and other goodies. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful week in Boothbay Harbor and this unit was a short walk to everything but in a quiet neighborhood right on the cove. Karen was a wonderful host and helpful with suggestions for things to do. Would definitely recommend this rental!

Great location
We stayed in the two bedroom for a week in September. The apartment is beautifully maintained, comfortable, and in a perfect location. You can walk to shopping and restaurants. Karen was so helpful and was a wonderful hostess. One night, we mentioned being warm and she brought us a box fan, along with delivering a new corkscrew for our bottle of wine! There is a lot to do in the area and many places to explore. The botanical gardens should not be missed. You cannot go wrong with renting this perfect spot.

Wonderful Stay
My husband and I stayed in the 2 bedroom for a week. Loved the colors used !
Best of all was the porch - great views - tide in and tide out!
There was a huge family gathering in the large home next door. Was wonderful
to see so many generations having a wonderful time together. They had fireworks
over the water - fabulous !
Would only recommend that 1 couple stay here as there is no closet or place to put your clothes, etc. in
the queen room. we used the double as our closet. worked out great!
Would highly recommend this property to anyone. We just loved the place.
Thank you for our wonderful stay.

About the host
Hosted by KAREN PRITCHARD
Originally from England, worked on Holland America Line Cruises as British Ballroom Dance Champion before landing in Florida. Visiting friends in Boothbay Harbor, I fell in love with the area, it's heritage, the people and of coarse the charm and beauty of the town. Now retired to Maine, we enjoy each season as one becomes more beautiful than the one before. Boothbay Harbor......It truly is a slice of heaven.
Why they chose this property
Purchased this property because it reminded me of my youth in England. Visiting my Grandmother who had a house similar in age, 1890's. It's bright and full of sunshine and we love to open all the windows and enjoy the fresh air that Maine offers. It has a lot of the original charm, but has modern touches for the enjoyment of your vacation.
What makes this property unique
This quaint costal town is lined with lobster boats in the bay, fabulous restaurants and shops in town and over 30 miles of hiking trails. A pictureque historic 1.000 ft footbridge which connects the east and west sides of the inner harbor, great for walking to Barrett's Park where you can picnic, swim and sunbathe. We also have New England's largest Botanical Gardens filled with sculptures and trails with over 250 waterfront and woodland trails to enjoy. Discover by car the many Lighthouses including the ever popular Pemaquid Point Light built in 1827. Not to forget the Artists and Sculptures, Writers, Musicians & Performers that share their work with the community. Abundant events thoughout the year in town festivals, local bars and great musical theatres makes it the perfect place for you to absorb all the beauty that the peninsula of Boothbay Harbor affords. Boothbay Harbor has also one of the best-known boating centers in New England. The harbor has over 20 excursion boat trips daily in season. Grab a picnic and go to near-by Islands, or take the shoreline wildlife watching tour or the ever popular Whale sightseeing trips. Don't forget the fishing trips, canoeing or board surfing available right in town. Rain or Shine there is always something to do from Museums, Live Theatre Shows, to visiting the many Lighthouses or great shopping at stores filled with Local quality hand made items, locally made taffy or maple flavored popcorn. Missing the gym head to the Local YMCA to swim, workout, play sports, Yoga or Zumba Classes, or Pickle Ball. Enjoy the local bands, an evening meal, maybe an ice-cream and walk 6 mins to home, find a treasure at the weekend Yards sales or Antique auctions, play golf at the First Class Golf coarse in BBH with restaurant and pop in bar. Let's not forget a visit to the weekly town market for the freshest locally grown foods, and handy crafts. Whatever your pleasure, it's here in Boothbay Harbor, where there's something for everybody.
