Very cute, clean, comfortable cottage. Incredible view to wake up to! Our family had the house on the property as well so we didn’t use the kitchen there but it had everything 2 people would need.
So wonderfully sunny! All the windows looking out on the water was great. There was a bit of a glitch with the tv but Kim was easy to contact and the situation was easily fixed. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was comfy. The location was terrific as getting to downtown and the botanical gardens was very easy. It was a great place for us!
The grade difference between bathroom and bedroom could use some caution tape.Maybe less hotel type chairs and a cozy recliner for curling up and reading a book.Couldn’t find first aid kit. It is a little noisy with bridge and all its bells and noises but I really didn’t mind it.Lovely place to use for base camp while exploring the area.
What a great little spot! I loved watching the bridge move, watching sailboats pass through and even some fishing boats press their luck to smoothly pass under. They did, and it was entertaining to watch. Yeah, people spoke negatively about a smell, but you’re on the coast. It’s a thing. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay again!
We always look forward to a relaxing and serene stay at this cottage. Our recent stay was no exception. Water view is out of this world and the wildlife is extraordinary. We watched the young male ospreys on their nest on the bridge. We saw ducks, geese and cormorants in the water. We watched a mink scamper along the rocks at the water's edge and watched 2 harbor seals playing in the gut. We could watch the working lobstermen checking pots and hauling in their catch. The cottage is perfect for a couple with all you need in the kitchen provided. The cottage is rustic but well appointed and laid out so you have water views from each room. Loved the benches at the point of the property. Could sit and idle away hours in the sunshine. Also, enjoyed the single serve coffee maker as well as the pot for larger brews. Lovely new pot and pan set which were great to use. Linens were provided so you don't need to lug them with you. We always enjoy staying here and hope to book another couple weeks in 2027!
We spent a LOT of time sitting waterside and enjoying the boats & bridge. Kitchen was well equipped & bbq grill was perfect. The sliding doors let in tons of light and we had them open as much as possible. We had a great stay.
Very comfortable and fully equipped. We e joyed watching the daily parade of boats and maizie the osprey! Southport is a special place and the cottage is a wonderful place to stay.
We chose to include the cottage with our rental of the big house on the property and were glad we did. We only had nine adults but it was great to have the extra space.
We loved staying at the cottage. It was clean and very comfortable. The setting is gorgeous, as close to the water as you can get. We would stay there again.
This cottage is very clean, bright and cheery. It was wonderful watching the swing bridge open and seeing all the boats going by. We would definitely stay here again!!!
Great stop on my adventure. Light and airy inside and exactly as shown in the pics. Great view from the yard and dock. Gorgeous views on my drive around the island, Boothbay Harbour and beyond.
The location is great; right in the middle of everything and easy access to town with great dining next door. We were surprised by the close proximity to the road when we arrived but it didn't bother us when we were inside. We loved watching the boats and birds around the bridge and felt the cottage was cozy. We had everything we needed and enjoyed our time there!
We've stayed at the property before, and love it.It's a small cottage, right on the water. Lovely!Kim, the VRBO contact person, is *very* responsiveand requested the rest of the staff to provide two itemswhich were missing. They were provided quickly.Very happy with this experience!!
This little cottage is perfect for a couple looking to get away, and has the room for additional people on the pull down couch. You can’t beat the water view as you’re quite literally on the water. Complete with outdoor seating and a boat dock, it’s such a nice getaway.
This is the second year we’ve stayed here and it was great! The bridge construction was noisy of course but fascinating to watch and the boat traffic is always entertaining. The grounds are beautiful and the cottage is lovely. Communication with the management was exceptional. We will be returning…😁
