Unfortunately, my experience hosting Ryan was one of the most negative I’ve had. During his stay, Puerto Rico experienced a massive island-wide power outage that was completely out of my control. Despite this, Ryan was extremely disrespectful and rude in his communications. What was most concerning, however, were the offensive and inappropriate remarks he made. He compared Puerto Rico to Mexico and referred to the island as a “third world country,” which I found not only inaccurate but also deeply racist and hurtful. His comments made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected in my own home. In an effort to resolve the situation and be fair, I offered Ryan a full refund, which he declined. He also approached my neighbor to question the validity of the power outage, accusing me of lying because some nearby buildings had electricity, without understanding that power restoration is not uniform and can vary by location. This experience was upsetting and stressful. I do not recommend Ryan as a guest and would advise other hosts to proceed with caution
