Happy stay near the beach in quaint old home.
We had a great time at Matthew’s place. It is brilliantly located down a quiet street with swift access to great beaches. The town is a short walk with an excellent butcher/deli. We made friends with some nice neighbours.
Matthew was a fantastic host. He could not have been more kind and helpful. He responded to all messages immediately. He was generous too, lending us a personal item which made a big difference to our stay. We also used his bikes to get about.
The house has lots of character. This is very much a lived-in family holiday home. All kitchen cupboards and drawers are filled with owners’ belongings. If you’re looking for minimalist, modern living this isn’t the place for you. We loved it.
Garden/yard is a good size with a fire pit. Watch out for Long Island mosquitoes though at least in July - they bit all day long in the garden. Come with high end repellant! The screened-in porch is a great place to hang out. The outdoor shower gets top prize though! There is a good gas grill.
We really enjoyed our time here. It is a home with a real sense of history. And the host could not be better.
