Serene 35-Acre Mountain Retreat Near Durango

Relax and reconnect with nature at this peaceful single-level home, tucked away at the end of a private lane on 35 secluded acres. With sweeping views of the La Plata Mountains and plenty of room for family and friends, this retreat offers the perfect balance of comfort, privacy, and adventure.

The Space
• Primary Suite: King bed, en-suite bathroom with soaking tub, shower, and adjoining sunroom.
• Secondary Bedroom: Two twin beds.
• Family Room: Wet bar, TV, and a twin daybed with trundle for extra sleeping space.
• Layout: Bright, spacious, and thoughtfully designed—all on one level.

Located just 15 minutes from downtown Durango and 10 minutes from Lake Nighthorse, the home is ideally situated for both relaxation and exploring the best of Colorado.

Guest Access

Guests will enjoy full access to the home and property, with the exception of the garage, fireplace, barn, and fenced pastures.

Things to Know
• The property caretaker lives onsite and is available if any issues arise.
• Depending on the season, you may see livestock or horses in the surrounding pastures. Daily visits to the barn may occur for animal care. Please do not enter fenced areas.
• A “travel crib” (pack-n-play) is provided for families with young children.
• This is a rural location with no street lights—perfect for stargazing, but bring a flashlight for evenings outside.

Seasonal Considerations
• Winter Guests: The area receives significant snowfall. While the driveway is plowed as quickly as possible, 4WD, AWD, or snow chains are strongly recommended.
• Outdoor Use: Recreational vehicles (ATVs, UTVs, quads, etc.) are not permitted on the property.

Beautiful view, very peaceful, enjoyed sitting out and watching wildlife. House was very clean, kitchen had everything you needed to cook with. Beds were okay, keep in mind I like my bed very firm, all of the beds were a little more towards the soft side. I would highly recommend this place.

Wonderful home to get away from it all! Quiet, clean, and secluded. The deer visited us everyday in the front yard! Sometimes twice a day! Very relaxing time despite the inclement weather. Beautiful views out of every window! The host was fantastic! Very helpful. We will be back!!

Secluded Country Getaway

Super cute house in the country with the best view of the mountains. My family loved our stay here and it was a short 15 min drive to Durango. Highly recommend staying here and the host was quick with any questions i had before our stay. No issues during our stay and i would 100% stay here again. Perfect if you prefer the country to staying in town and are looking for breathtaking views.

A beautiful peaceful property. The kids loved watching the chipmunks and the mule deer. It was a great escape from our city life

Really nice home. A couple of things could be improved upon. The heat did not work, there was no soap to bath with other that the Soft soap at the sink. Could us some sort of water conditioner, so difficult to get shampoo/conditioner out of our hair and soap off body. And a TV in the main room would be so nice to relax with friends. Otherwise a very nice house, surroundings and location.

Amazing retreat

This place is located in a beautiful area with great Mountain Views and a close proximity to Durango. The house was very nice and the owners respond quickly to questions. Highly recommended!

Peaceful getaway with stunning view

My family and loved the ranch. The privacy and peace were heavenly. We loved sitting on the patio each morning and evening to enjoy the mountain vista and commune with the two horses in the pasture. The house is spacious, immaculate and warmly decorated. It’s a piece is southwest comfort.

Sunset Ranch vacation

Two of my friends and I spent 4 nights at this beautiful ranch house. Check in was easy and the house was lovely. Before our visit the host was very friendly and helpful when I would message her with a question and responded quickly. The view from the porch is beautiful and relaxing. Although the drive from Durango is approximately 20 minutes, after a long day of activities it was a pleasure to arrive back at the house nestled on a private acreage and enjoy the scenery and peace and quiet. I would definitely stay there again.

Peaceful

We loved it here. The Dogs loved all the space. It was really nice being able to just let them relax and enjoy the outdoors without having to worry about them barking or bugging others around. They already get stressed traveling and having it away from the road and out on its own was so nice for the to walk and explore. Really enjoyed the house and the owner's were great with communication.

AMAZING Rental House!!!

This place FAR exceeded our expectations. It's a short drive to Durango but well worth the drive. The home is so cozy, and the views are incredible. Everything was so clean and comfortable. We loved our time there and have already started talking about our next trip. The check in was the easiest I've ever experienced and communication with the owner was nearly instant. The pictures do not do this place justice.

Greatest place ever!

We decided to rent this beautiful home after we sold our house. The property is magnificent, clean, secluded (yet 20 min from Durango) and has everything a family needs. There is a big field where we flew our kites, we took walks on the land, our dogs and 7 year old daughter loved it! This is exactly what we needed to refuel and relax. The owner is wonderful and worked with us when we needed to extend our stay due to a longer wait (our camper wasn't ready). Highly recommended, this exceeded our expectations.

Picture Perfect

This was the perfect getaway! When you wake up in the morning you have a picture perfect view of the mountains from each window. The birds chirping and the aspens dancing in the wind makes it so nice to just sit and enjoy. It 15 minutes from the town of Durango and a beautiful drive to get there. The horses are so sweet and will come right up to you! The details within the home are beautiful and the history is even better! This home felt like a home away from home and wish we stayed longer! Highly recommend to anyone who comes visit Durango area and would be great for family or couples!
